    Saddlebag attachment for I-Beam seatposts

    Anyone know?

Apparently there is a little clip that lets you attach some Topeak saddlebags to your IBeam seat... But I don't know who sells it... SDG or Topeak?

    My LBS is clueless...

    I can't find anything.

    found

Just for anyone else trying to figure it out.

I emailed a few places... Topeak, SDG...

It is SDG who makes them.

Very nice people. They're sending me one, for free!

They are not very user friendly. What I did was bolt my saddle bag directly to the bottom of the SDG saddle. There is a threaded hole in the bottom of the saddle that is the same size as a pedal cleat bolt, whatever size that is. I heated up a nail and used it to melt through the nylon of the bag, this also sealed the edges of the hole. I used a fender (large) washer and the the old cleat bolt through the bag from the inside and screwed it into the threaded hole on the bottom of the saddle. The bag is then tight against the bottom of the saddle In fact I like this better then using straps around the rails as you would normally do.

    Good job

I guess it would be better having the bag tight against the seat. It did look like there was a reasonable clearance, created by the attachment clip...

I might try that! thanks for the tip.

I'm not sure why they don't list it on their site.

If you send them an email they should be able to help you.

This is the picture I found of the clip...

Well they only attach to Topeak bags... if you check out the top of a Topeak Aero Wedge bag it'll make sense.

Old thread but I'm just getting in on the I-beam saddle/post thing as I've always had issues with regular twin pipe railed saddles..
So far I absolutely love it.. Easy, secure, comfortable, more adjustably. haven't found a bad thing yet...well other than attaching a bag to it. E-mailed SDG to see if they still have anything for it.
Going to try and bring Trail Tire TV back. go take a look... http://trailtiretv.blogspot.com/
