S2 or S3? Which XX front derailleur fits Carbon Flash 2011?

I bought the S1 and it doesn't fit.

My frame is the Cannondale Flash 4 2011.

(Below pictured with it's stock X7.)

    Cheers!

    S3 bottom pull

It'll say it stamped on the backside of your existing derailleur

Make sure you also get the right FD per your chain wheel.
    ie 39T or 42T

there is also a spacer kit kp123. you don't require the spacer but there is a chain guard/plate in this kit which is excellent, well worth putting on too.

Does the guard help stop the chain coming off the front rings?? Anybody got pics??

as stated, its not required and my bike didnt come with one. It is a small ring chain guide to help keep the chain from falling to the bottom bracket area.

    Thanks.

    It's a Shimano crank, XTR M980, 38/26T, 175mm, 2012 model.

So I believe 39T is the correct, right?

I think so, but not 100% sure.
As far as I know, there are only 2 FD variations in regard to front chain wheels teeth count.
    42-28 & 39-26 (each variation has an S1 and S3 option)
The one for the 42-28 will not work properly.
The 39-26 should work pretty good.

The one that Stumpy has linked I agree is the best one for the bike. I am sticking with the X7 one for the moment as I just bought new FSA carbon bars, so perhaps next month I will change but the front shift on my bike is perfect at the moment.
