    RST Deuce 100, 1.5".....dead after 50 miles.

Bought my bike brand new 3/2011, have put 50 miles on it so far. Turns out i have lost all adjustability in the RST deuce 100mm 1.5 fork on my 2011 Trail sl-3.

Rebound is still barely there, but preload, and compression are now useless. The knobs still click, but it seems the valves do nothing.

I have been mostly riding groomed trails, construction sites, pavement, and have done a few 2-3' drops. I plan on riding alot more, and alot harder than this.

Not really mad, just shocked that they only lasted this long before becoming annoying.

Does anyone think its possible to upgrade at my LBS where i bought the bike, with a little money on my end?

ya fork performance on low end bike is not ideal to say the least, hopfully your shop will give you a few $$ toward a new fork but I would not expect more then 100 or so. 1.5 forks are easy to find cheap used, maybe a revelation.

I'm in the process of looking for a new fork to replace my RST, it actually gave me a year, but I didn't start really riding hard till a few months ago and then it bit the dust a couple weeks ago. I'm looking for something sub $400 to keep it going to have as back up bike or for others to ride, since I'll be purchasing a new bike in 5 months, birthday/christmas present to myself. Try checking Jenson USA they have some deals on '10 '11 forks.

look for a marz 66 fork - they are generally considered reliable and beefy
