My new/old model Jekyll, it's a 2011 but it was a demo and never ridden. I love this bike worlds different then my RZ 120. The bike is still stock but I'm thinking about a TruVativ Hammerschmidt or new brakes.

Completely overhauled this after purchase last year. Since taking the pics I have installed a new rear hub and xt pedals but that's the only difference. The only work left is to get the front shock professionally serviced and fitted with a lockout. But that's 400 bones so I can wait.

The Jekyll is a great bike. Mine is called Beast.

Funny you say that.. I wanted the 3 for the same reason. Lol. It's got the dyad and the rest is good old middle of the road stuff. At the end of the day the bike is more bike than I'll ever need.

Anyone out there happen to have a 2014 Jekyll 1 carbon? I'm considering a used one and I'm really interested in finding out what it weighs and just some feedback in general.

Sorry to hijack the thread. I'm thinking about switching my old companion (a Size M 2007 Prophet 2 I've heavily modified over the course of time) for a 2013 XL Jekyll 4 Alloy I found really cheap down here. The thing that concerns me the most is the sizing. Measuring 183cm (just a hair over 6ft) in height with 85cm (33 1/2 inches) of inseam, I'm afraid I would be too stretched in the XL Jekyll.

I've been looking at the geometry charts, but I feel the geometries aren't even comparable. The Jekyll seems much more slack and low than the Prophet, has shorter chainstays, etc...

Regarding my fitting on the Prophet, I run a 80mmx5° stem, 760mm bars, and almost all the seatpost out. The Jekyll comes with a 50mm Thomson stem and 740mm bars. I am comfortable pedaling on the Prophet, but on steep, fast downhill sections I feel as it would send me OTB. As years passed by I began to feel more comfortable on slightly bigger bikes, while in the past I would have chosen one size less to get better maneuverability.

If anyone with similar body stats could shine some light on my doubts, I would be very thankful.

Very nice Spartan! I like my original head-shok fork though, in that same beautiful blue. Is that a small frame?

My first mtb was a Super V in '94 and I put a couple thousand kilometres on it before children stopped me riding much. Decided to get back into it and to help the motivation I bought a second hand 2012 Carbon 2 Jekyll. I've swapped out the Avid brakes and SRAM drivetrain for Shimano and just last week built up some Light Bicycle 38mm rims on CK hubs. I really enjoy riding this bike - it's probably too much bike for the style of riding I do but it's fun that that's all I care about.

Here's mine. It's actually for sale right now (I'm thinking of going for a 27.5 Jekyll), but it has been awesome.

It started as a size M 2013 Jekyll MX. I'm September 2014, I got a brand new Size L frame, which I'm running with a 35 mm stem at 5'8" and it feels great.

The build has a XTR derailleur with OneUp RAD Cage, XT shifter, cassette and brakes, Wolftooth 42t GC and 30t direct mount chainring, WTB Stryker i23 wheels, Reverb, Raceface Atlas cockpit and Fox 36 Kashima with tapered steerer. It ends up about 30.5 lbs with pedals.

Hi Thresh, we have the same bike, what fork are you using, if you don't mind me asking?
I want to upgrade mine (Fox 32 Talas).

    thanks
