    rockshox shock hardware on prophet

    hey guys

wondering if anybody has done this or maybe has the correct stuff on thier bike already
i have been using fox mounting hardware with a fox float for years but i'd like to try something different and perhaps better....the fox dimension are 8X37.59 and 8X27.43
the closest thing i can find by rockshox is 8X38 and 8X28...just a hair wider but will that work ok without having to sand anything or screw up the shock mounts on the frame

thanks for any help you can give me

Monarch and Fox both use the same DU Bushing size, so it probably fits. You can always use the spacers from the Fox if the Monarch spacers are too tight.

    Oops!

I just saw you wrote Rockshox. The Rockshox has a 12mm DU Bushing, not 1/2" like Fox. But the pivot bolt is the same for both the 12mm and the 1/2" (interior dimension must be the same), so you will still be OK. But I am sure that someone here who knows for sure will post up and confirm.

You can tell I wanted to find out about this. The 1/2" width of the Fox translates to 12.7mm. So the extra width on the RockShox spacers is to make up for that .7mm. They have a bit less, according to your numbers, but it probably fits OK.

what's really confusing...according to TF tuned website...rockshock makes some shocks with 12mm and some with 12.7mm (1.2 inch ie fox)

The Monarch uses 1/2" reducers and DU's just like the Fox. As for width, the 28mm for the upper shock mount should be fine, but the lower are usually a little tighter tolerance.
