Rize Carbon Large Frame-set - Stripped and Weighed...
Was stripping down my Rize Carbon 08 size Large to give it a good clean and replace the pivot bearings and shock bushes, and while i was at it I put all the frame parts on some scales, here's my findings..
Front Triangle = 1222g ( 2.69.lbs) - With BB30 to GXP adaptor installed..
Seat stay = 196g ( 0.43.lbs)
Chain stay = 695g (1.53.lbs)
Hanger/ Bolts = 158g ( 0.34.lbs)
Bearings = 58g ( 0.12.lbs)
Shock bolts = 34g (0.07.lbs)
Fox RP23 = 257g ( 0.56.lbs)
Frame without shock = 2363g ( 5.20.lbs )
Complete weight = 2620g ( 5.77. lbs)
The Rize Carbon frame-set seems to be very competitive in terms of weight compared to other bikes in its class. For example, my friends Santa Cruz Blur LT Carbon also a Large frame-set, including shock, weighed in at 6.10.lbs.

I'm a little surprised actually. I thought it was closer to 2.4kg. the bb30 adaptor doesnt weigh that much...
Great post, I have the 09 Rize Carbon One, it's refreshing to see direct empirical data posted on this site.

Or is it possible that the 2.4kg estimate that has been flying around is without shock?

I weighed my XL RZ120 aluminum frame (with RP23) before we put it together and it came in at 6.0lbs. Not apples to apples but just for comparison....
All out of S**** and down to my last F***
I think I strained a pucker muscle
Thanks for the post. I think it's a good weight consider it's not a FULL carbon frame. Are the pivot bearings hard to take out?

The BB adaptor is about 50grams... and white frames are the heaviest as it usually takes more paint to give a nice looking, opaque white.
I will be taking out my BB adaptor in the next few weeks, so i will be able to confirm its true weight..

I would also be interesting to see how the other sizes compare too..
