    Removing a 2 piece lefty stem/steerer

Not long had my flash which came with a 2 piece stem and steerer. Ive just bought a XC3 Si integrated stem/steerer which is 90mm rather than 110 which should fit me a little better.

Ive removed the stem and undone the 2 pinch bolts on the fork but for the life of me cant figure out how i get the steerer bit out

It just seems to spin - can anyone tell me how i remove the steerer?

This is where im at thinking this would be an easy job

    Many thanks

You can just buy a 90mm stem and save the trouble of taking everything apart.

What Jersey 29er said. But since you bought the XC3 Si, you will have to remove the front wheel to get the steerer tube out. Use a rubber mallet to knock it down thru the clamps. Once below the top clamp, I've had to use a round piece of wood and tapped around the steerer until it was out. I've also heard of someone using a piece of PVC pipe. The XC3 will be installed from the top.
