    rear shock help

    Hi,

I got Fox RP23 for my Prophet as a b-day present yesterday and boy I was happy, but only until I have found out that that it's 2.25" stroke version instead of 2". I called to the shop today and they told me that they can replace it (or give me money back) but right version is not available even in local distributor's warehouse and I may end up waiting for it for weeks.

I have read that some of you ride 2.25 version in XC position w/o any problems. Now I wonder if I should install it and ride the hell out of it or get the money back and order the right one.

So am I correct in assuming the eye to eye is the same, just the stroke is different? Install it, deflate it, fully compress it, and see if there is contact anywhere. If not, rock and roll, if there is, it's not dirty yet, and go get the right one
This is a Pugs not some carbon wannabee pretzel wagon!!
