    prophet purchase price? help!

there's a 2007 prophet 5 with lefty max 140 for sale locally with a turbo trainer (not sure which kind). the bike is in mint condition (according to add 98% of riding on trainer). asking price is $1195. bike is stock.

what is a fair price? this seems a little high to me given msrp of $1599 in 07.

    thanks for any advice.

Ya that is to much. Parts for the fork are hard to find. I have a prophet 5 and they are great bikes but I would only pay about 700

    I agree with karlmichael....too expensive.
A used Prophet 5 shouldn't cost more than $600-$800 depending on the condition its in.

Anyone who rides a Prophet 98% of the time on a trainer is a weirdo and I would stay far away as possible.

I'm in total agreement-would you trust him if he asked you to? Does he sell Canadian real estate as well as used cars only deiven to church on Sundays? Tell him to drop the price. I have a 600 and upgraded that rides well thats not for sale but I vouch for the fact that its a great bike.

If the guy does drop the price DO get the frame checked out at your lbs and all the other parts. Most important check out the lefty. My lefty max fork lasted 3 years before it started to fade, then I just got a new pbr fork.

If this is the one on the AZ craigslist than I saw the same bike, wayyyy too much. Be patient. Prophets in good condition with Lefty's have been selling for 6-700 around here when all is said and done. (I should know, I'm the guy who calls the sellers and offers them $550 out the door that day and they always either seem to get a better offer that same day or the bike is in crap condition)
