Unless you just love the color and are just going to cruise around on it, I would pass. That is all "old tech," like 90's tech. As I remember, they rear suspension on those is kind of a "boing" type feel. The fatty head shock was great, but low travel compared to today.

If you are vintage collector, then never mind my comment.

Ok i will make my point clear i always wanted a cannondale

Butt whit a serious knee problem just able to make a short commute to work
    On my cruiser bike

Mountainbike now a 11 year old merida used in the woods 1-2 times a year
And the snow commutes to work

I am not a real collector just a fan bikes that are different

It look in great shape but the price 450 is that not to much ?

I have a '96 Super V 1000 that I bought because I always wanted a Super V. It came with a blown rear Alps 4 shock and a very tired DD50 fork. This one looks like a '97 or '98 and in better shape that mine was in. I paid $150 for mine. I've since rebuilt the DD50 and found a Fox RP3 rear shock and I love the bike even more. This one looks very clean, but $450 seems high and I am not fond of the color.
    Good luck in your search.

It's a '99, which is a desirable year as far as Super V's go. It has 120mm of travel in the rear and the Headshok is a Fatty 80. It also has disc brake tabs in the front and the rear if you want to upgrade to discs later on. I have 2 of them, a Mean Green SV400 and a matte black with yellow decals SV700 They are fun bikes as they came from the factory. With an upgrade to a modern platform rear shock, a modern fork and disc brakes, they are downright impressive. See if you can talk them down a bit. It would be worth your while to bargain with the seller.
