    Pre 2003 Scalpel frame

I'm pretty close to buying a 2002 model Scalpel frame.

Are these all made for the SI hollowgram bottombracket? If yes, I suppose that there is some kind of insert in the BB tube, to fit a normal BB? Anybody got any pics of this area that you could post (from an old frame)?

Other differences to the 2003 an onward frames (I know of the seatstays, shoch link and different rear drop outs)?

Anything I should look out for, or pay special attention to?

    Thanks

I am not sure the SI bb was being made then. If it is an Si bb, you will need the cranks/bb to go with it. There is no adaptor that I know of.

Yup, it was available in 2002. It's featured on the Scalpel Team Issue from that year...

Is the frame you are looking at Si?

Is it a Si frame, or not?

If so, you need the cranks and bb also.

    Scalpel Team Specs frames only...

The Scalpel Team Specs frames were the only Scalpel frames and frame sets to come with the Si BB housing for the Si Hollowgram BB and cranks. So unless it is a Scalpel Team Specs '02, '03 or Scalpel Team Replica Specs '04 it should not be a Si BB. I have also seen several Scalpel Team Replica Specs frames that were not Si compatable.

Best bet if it is a Team Specs ask the seller if it is an Si BB housing?

If it is an Si and it doesn't come with the Si Hollowgram BB & Cranks be prepaired to pay $300+ for them used if you can find them.

As Damion stated there is no adapter.

    HolloGram

I have a pair of Hollogram crank arms off of my 04` Team Scalpel.
The arms alone list out at $550.00 from a Cannondale dealer.
    These are 172.5m in length.

Yea that is a damn good deal!
I looked everday for a month on eBay for a pair of 175m but could not wait any longer. I have always lost out on deals like that. My Cannondale dealer that sold me my $5000.00 Team Scalpel sold me the same arms but new for $550.00.
How that guy got that $400.00 list price will be shocked that they actualy list out to $550.00 new from a dealer.
I will definitely take alot less for my 172.5m arms.

    Smile

I am thinking of selling my small `04 Team Scalpel frame with the DT remote lockout and include another set of hollogram crankarms. The hollogram cranks on frame are 175m and extra pair are 172.5m. Headset reducers included with Thompson setback seatpost and the silver Team seat.
I put the fork and wheels on my superV.
