I'm sorry about my english my mistake.

I sold this bike and bought a Scalpel Ultimate 2013, a bit heavier, but more confident, enve wheels, stock stem...

Here my Scalpel 26 2011 7.95kg that I just sold too.

I'll start ride a road for trainning, and use scalpel only for special trails and competitions, and will use a 29 OEM XO group for trainning offroad.

I prefer the colours on the old one, but the comparison ends there. That's an amazing bike you have there.

    Congratulations mate

After a year with 4 digits miles the bike still shines! Got rip of some creaking noise (bottom bracket / main pivot bearings, which bugged me big time!) and updated a few parts lately... now I'm in love again! Not the lightest build @ 21.6lbs but I'm happy as is.

Thanks Chris, yours super nice too. Ya I had the "old" ENVE decals on the wheels and they were pretty beat up.. so replaced with the new style.

    hey there,
    Here's my Scalpel Carbon 1-2013.
Can't say anything else other than I absolutely like the bike!
A beauty to look at, and a beast to ride.

Latest shot before going XX1. (Late february cannot come soon enough when Reynolds will be shipping their XX1 free hubs, so in the mean time it will be XX1 minus the rear cogs)

    Not much on that one:
    Fizik Cyrano Carbon
    Leornadi Racing Carbon lefty guard
    Time Attac XC8 Carbon pedals
Sram XO Type 2 rear derailleur
    Enve sweepbar
    XX Rotors 180/160
Schwalbe Noby Nic Snakeskin Front / RR Snakeskin rear, both tubeless

For me this bike need's some changes... handlebar, rotors and carbon fork ; ) (maybe remove decals from the wheels)

But, its a TOP bike for sure : )

One think that not make me confortable in XX1 is the big GAP fro 42T to ~38(?) rear...

A dying bread. Love my 26" (now 27.5") Scalpel!

This is my dream bike and I am so excited to start racing on it.

    2012 Cannondale Scalpel 2
Stan NoTubes ZTR Crest 650b Wheels
    Maxxis Ardent 2.25 - Crossmark 2.1
    SRAM XX1 Groupset

Weighs about 21lbs and I could probably easily drop another 1.5lbs.

I am not a huge fan of 29er, but the racer in me knew I needed bigger wheels, so this is a prefect fit and XX1 just topped it off perfectly.

I doubt you will see to many more of these, especially with this build!

1ma2t...You may have started something there, putting a 27.5 to that bike looks like a natural fit... Congratulations on that build!!!

    Good job! The bike

Beautiful, congrats, it looks great with XX1: simple and clean.
We have some similar options, like the bike, the wheels and the grips.
    Good trails with it.

Thanks, the bars are 2008 SRAM Carbon Nior bars. The have been great for as long as I have owned them light, durable, and a comfortable shape.

I want to do the same, however my bike is a scalpel 2 2011 size S. i am not sure the 27.5 will fit on the rear.

If you are certain that it is a 2011 then it will work, even on a size small. Anything 2011+ will fit 650 front and rear. You should do it, I have loved it!

    Post your Scalpel!!!!

I started out with a scalpel 2008 (team), then changed the front wheel to 650b. Now i've got a scapel 2011 team with 650b front and back. I got the lefty changed to fit the 650b and the rear damper also got a remake with a shim to make sure the rear wheel didnt hit the front derrie. Bike rides amazing!

Mountain bikers who don't road ride are usually slow.
Roadies who don't mountain bike are usually d***s.

    Hello vin100
Can you explain us what you did in the Lefty and the rear shock?
Iīve got mine with 650b wheels for 5 months, and i didnīt make any changes; works fine.
Why did you or who told/advise you to make the changes?
    Thanks

The 650b ones here are pretty sweet. Has anyone tested that the rear doesn't hit the tube when the shock bottoms out?
