Dropped another .6 of a pound! Not bad for a $100.

Bought some hylix stuff. After one ride the bar felt great. the saddle moved abit but I havent got my torque wrench yet. the Ti rails and alu Clamps make for a slippery surface.

Should have it down near 19lbs now. Will weight it tomorrow hopefully.

    It amazes me as well...
With the 2012 F29 Carbon frame and Lefty, Reynolds Carbon wheelset and light tubeless tires (Schwalbe RaRa/RoRo) as well as 2x10 XX F/R derailleurs and Hollogram cranks and my bike weight is 20.5
I guess it matter what scale one is using ... I use the Red Feedback Sports Alpine.

Mine was measured on a park scale. It was 20.07. Thay was with 180mm fr 160mm rear avids. Have since gone to kcnc 160/140mm and lost the rear adapter.
Then the carbon bits. In theory , it should be 19.5ish.

The 1x saved alot of weight for me.

Yes, the 1x explains a lot...
Still, I like my 2x10... 39/26 11/36, the 1x11 doesn't get as low or as high as that combo.

I would think it's a long cage schlava?

You might get away with a medium however.

Baaahaha. It's coming. The drive train is all taken apart and soaking in degreaser do lining up the wheels is next. And just to make up for it, I'm gonna dust off the dslr and take some nice shots.

    '12 Flash Carbon3
Pretty stock , minus panaracer tires, egg beaters, bar ends.

Might be looking into making this bike a light weight.

Where is the biggest bang for the buck in taking off a few lbs?
And still be strong,, Im a bigger rider.

The wheels were a huge one on my '13... Shimano m5XX hub is like 499 grams. The i19 rims are light so just going with a light hub and spokes on the rear wheel could be inexpensive (bikehubdtore.com look for the mtb270) and would save half a lb. Also depending on where you live you could go 1x10. My race face narrow wide cost me $35 and with deleting the extra chain ring, fd, and shifter, it was over 1lb savings. That's almost lbs for under $200 :-)

At 23lbs it is already pretty light!

As twonin9r suggested wheels, tubes and tires are the main place, bars and seat post for carbon equivalent is another option. If you want to keep 2x10, hollowgram cranks?

1x10 is the best bang for weight buck. I dropped over a pound for 70usd.

Guess I'm going 1 x 10 then. Since I'm on road tires might as well!
What's a decent setup? Think I want to keep with xtr everything.

Race face narrow wide and just remove everything else. $40 and that's it.

2012 flash alloy 3 large frame, my baby. New to the sport and these forums. Grabbed this beauty off of craigslist for a great deal and have been having a blast ever since. The guy I purchased it from had only test ridden it once on pavement so it was basically new when i acquired it. I took this picture on top of Blue Hills in southeast Mass.

New F29 Carbon 3. I just bought a new 2014 F29 Carbon 3 at my local LBS inventory clear out. I got it for CDN $2325. I will post photos when I pick it up on Saturday. Now time to start the upgrade process 😊. First step will be to change the stem to a more upright stem. Itching to get it out for a run
