This bike gets 100km per week in winter, much more in the summer... It's pretty much frozen until March.

    Great looking bike

Great looking bike, the black and white looks sweet, I hope I can find my next Cannondale hardtail in black.

Can we see some 2008 Caffeine 29er?

If you got any pictures on the new 2008 f29 1 caffeine jet black, would be glad to see it! I have placed order for such color based only on Cannondale's Website pictures. If you were to choose, Jet black or Raw Bright?

I have not had a chance to see the black 29er but thats the one I would get, If I had 6 bikes I'd be happy if they all where jet black.

So far I do not own one black bike, every time I go the one that fits best is some other color

    regards
    Ray

    2005 F2000SL Optimo

Sorry for the grainy(and dim) cellphone pix......I'll post crisper shots again- once I get the old, broken digital camera replaced.

Working with a budget of $450USD- I was able to get my 24.5lb Cannondale Optimo down to around 23.5lbs......with many thanx to eBay. I was anxious to post pix- because I noticed nobody had the grey/purple/black F2000SL on here. Pictures still does no justice to this stunning frame, up front and in-person. Below is the component list:

    2005 Cannondale F2000SL Optimo:

Size: Medium(fits like a glove now!)
Forks: Headshok Ultra Fatty DLR 80mm
Wheels: Mavic XC717/DT Swiss Onyx hubs/DT Champion spokes/skewers
Tires: IRC Serac XC Lite 26" x 2.10"
Cranks: Shimano Hollowtech II 175mm(812g w/ BB!)
    Pedals: Crank Bros. Smarty clipless
BB: Race Face X-Type external bearing
    RD: SRAM X7 long cage
    FD: Shimano Deore LX
    Chain: SRAM PC991 Hollowpin
    Cassette: SRAM PG990 11-34t
Brakeset: Avid BB7 mech. disc/FR-5 levers/Avid Clean Sweep Serpentine rotors
    Seatpost: Thomson Elite 27.2mm x 330mm
    Saddle: F'izi:k Nisene Wingflex Sport
    Bars: Ritchey WCS Carbon 580mm
    Stem: Cannondale XC3 100mm

As soon as I can feed more cash into my weight weenie fetish......I'll splurge on a set of Stan's ZTR Olympic rims/DT Swiss 290s hubs, Selle Italia SLR Vanox saddle, Magura Marta SL brakes, XTR M960 cranks and hopefully knock weight further down to sub 20-lb, race level.....but we're talking about a few more paychecks!

    nice!! what a strange color!!

p.s. looking at this forum 3D it's clear that cannondales bikes are so advanced that a 2000 thing look so actual!!
This is something we can say to people who criticize the extra cost!!

    bye

My 2008 Cannondale F5 CO2. Matte Black. All stock other than a cycle computer. I've addded a lizard skin to the chain stay and I plan on getting better pedals if I can find an SPD shoe that fits me without blowing the bank.

    2005 F2000SL Optimo (Rare Color)

Here are my best shots, with a Nikon CoolPix L3 digital camera. Since my last posting- I upgraded the bars and saddle, with a 580mm Ritchey WCS Carbon flat bar, and the new Specialized Phenom SL(mtb version of Toupe') saddle, with hollow Ti rails. At first- it feels like you're sitting on a wooden saddle.......but it's like beautifully sculpted wood. I learned that minimalist, anatomically-correct flexing saddles, are FAR MORE comfortable than ones with heavy, excessive padding.

Currently, she weighs on the heavier side of 23lbs. The bling factor is complete, when the contrasting silver 2008 Mavic Crossmax SLRs arrive......on 26" x 1.95" Maxxis Flyweight 330 XC tires, with Stan's NoTubes. Then, she will be sub-21lbs- and that's when I'll start racing......

    Sweet paint job Dremel!
    I assume that's not stock.
I could see Cannondale doing a camo paint job, but NEVER anything without decals!

Thanks jdr... Actually not painted. I used a camo wrap(like a ACE bandage) from Cabelas that you use to wrap firearms with. It is removeable, washable and can be reused. The Cabelas item number is xh-226906 and it comes in different camo patterns. Mine is Mossy Oak NEW Break Up. One of the trails I ride runs a long a river and I pack a fishing rod, lock the bike to a tree and hit the water. That way it doesn't stand out as much since it is a gloss black underneath.

    Cypress,
It's kinda tricky, but if you crank up the gamma on your video card, turn you monitor on it's side, and put on 3D glasses, you should be able to make out a bike. Try that and let us know how it goes.

Dremel - cool - thanks clearing that up.

    My New Cannondale

Here is my new Cannondale. It's a 08 F29 one. This is my first venture into the big wheel market. I like it.
All stock for now, with plans on a new set of wheels (Stans, Mavic or Spinergy. Decisions ... Decisions) and a carbon bar (just because)
I only have 3 "road" rides in it, but all I can say is WOW!! It rides so smooth, and fast.
I can't wait to hit the single track when it dries out.

Here's my new F7, before the first ride! This is my first bike in about 8yrs so I decided to get something inexpensive just incase I don't like riding as much as I used to. Actually, after the first ride, I'm back in it! All I need to do is change out the seat, that thing was killing me!!

I know this isn't a F series but the wife said I couldn't post pics of mine if I didn't include hers!! So, here's her '08 Adventure 5

Kinda wish I had a big ole seat like the wife's Adventure, that thing is waaaay comfy! Who needs a FS bike when you got a seat that has its own suspension!!

LOL, pretty funny that on my $500 F7 the only thing I could really find to complain about was that seat.

Thirded. We finally had some nice weather here in the UK last Saturday and I took my F5 out for a 20 mile leisurely ride with some friends. I started feeling uncomfortable after about five miles. By the end of the ride I was walking like Liberace after a plausibly deniable night with a young friend. I'm getting a new saddle before I take it out again.

    Pic to stay on topic:

    my f900sl (not too sure)

    Hey there,

This is my '99 f900sl (can't find it back in the catalogues though, but according to my receipt). Started upgrading it a few months ago with a second hand Lefty.
Wayy better than the stock FattyD It went from 6 cm. hard travel to 11 cm. freeride travel!

Added also a suitable front wheel (second hand) and some shiny RaceFace parts (steer, post, bashguard) and new tires. Loving this ride completely now, I'm just going to ride this for another 10 years.

Next upgrade might be a set of Mavic Crosstrails, or a new paintjob by Cannondale.
    Both not really necesary though..

    c ya!

Odds are you're in the ballpark on the year - MY guess is that your bike started life as a frameset only?

Cannondale framesets were generally only sold as whatever their frameset style was, not model number. Hence your frame not having any model identifier on the top tube. The F900 was the lighest model CAAD3 frame that year, as the 1000 moved up to CAAD4.

Not sure of the color, but its gotta be a 99 or 2K... came with V-brakes but has the disc tabs/mounts.

Xt Cranks are very nice, the new X type beats the old bottom bracket system anyday. I did some of the upgrades myself but the Fatty I left to the pros. The next upgrades will probably the wheelset... looking at the all XT wheelset.

    Thanks

My '07 Caffeine F29, this past February:

Could perhaps use a little more tire clearance back there.

Love the ice on the big ring teeth:

The pedals would sorta still turn, as long as I didn't stop for too long:

Hooray for summer, man. Two loads of laundry per bike ride got pretty old.

    did

Quick rundown: Lefty Speed-Bonded DLR 2 fork, XTR M960 cranks (refinished with custom ceramic coating, Enduro bearings, and WickWerks chainrings), dangerboy pedals (check out those pins!), '08 BB7 disks w/ matching SD7 levers, stock WTB Dual Duty rims with Exiwolf tires, Thomson, Rocket V, X.9 rear, XTR front, X.0 twisters, 991 cassette and chain, FSA bars, Cane Creek Ergo II bar-ends, and Enduro 8 computer.

The thing runs smooth and fast! My first ride, I pinned it 46mph down a bomber hill near my house- no wobbles or shakes! Finally a bike my size- needless to say, I'm in love!
VERY NICE! great photos as well.

    2007 F3

    Hi everyone,

First time I've posted on these boards... here is my new Caffeine F3. It's the 2007 European model (leftover stock). I have since removed the yellow dealer sticker from the downtube, and I still need to fit the clipless pedals that came with it (waiting for a pair of Shimano MTB shoes I ordered the other day). I'm also replacing the seat post (too short for my legs!) and then I'll need a steeper stem to go with the longer post. I think the Race Face crank and handlebars are not stock; the shop must have exchanged that.

Picked up this F1000 on Friday. Awesome bike overall but it could use a tune up and a few parts.

    Love this thread

Great bikes in this thread! Love that F3 above.

I'm getting back into biking after a 5 year hiatus after I stopped road racing, for grad school and family. I can't believe I waited this long.

Here's my 2003 F600 that I picked up off CL. It was nearly new.
    CAAD4 Medium frame
    400mm OVAL post
no name saddle made by Velo
    Deore drivetrain with XT rear
Super Ultra Fatty DL (recently "Mendoned", works great)
Road tires on right now, but I just got a set of Mavic Speed City's for the road.

My hands are tellin me to get some Cane Creek Ergo's soon..

Love this thread, lets see some more F-Series and Caffeines.

I tried posting this but it doesn't seem to have worked. Here's my F1000. Just picked it up on Friday and it needs a tune up and possibly some new parts but I love it so far. The headshok is amazing and the bike is smooth and light. This is my first C'dale but I can see some more in the future .

Hadouken and Leadpack nice renditions of the BBQ. My philosophy now is, if it ain't broke don't fix it. That's why I haven't changed wheels, cranks, or brakes. You guys are tempting me though.

    My new(ish) C'dale F5 CO2.

Only bad thing is that something is in the seatpost tube; poor seatpost

New levers (Avid FR-5) after I bent the old ones in a crash

New stem (I'm 5' 8-10" and still growing so I got a large, but was too streatched out)
