    Im new here and heres my 2016 bad boy 4


    Awesome bike mods include knog rear taillight, serfas headlight, cannondale carbon cage/pump, and shimano lock in grips. So far only complaint i do have is these kojaks are horrible ive had the bike for just a month and ive gotten 3 flats on the rear. With all that being said its time to upgrade to conti's i dont want to lose the preformance of the bike so im staying at 700x28 also considering a set of ffwd carbon wheels, carbon seat post, carbon handle bar. All of you have awesome bikes on here i'll post the progress as i go along. Cheers

    Is it better to wait for 2017 Bad Boy 4 model?

    Hello,

    I'm a complete newbie to cycling after almost 40 years hiatus. So, this is my first time trying to buy a brand new bike. At a LBS, it has 2016 Bad Boy 4 on sale for $600. Should I get it now or wait a couple more months to get 2017 model and pay a little bit more?

    I tried to google 2017 specs to compare, but it came up with information of bikes in Europe. The specs over there showed every 2017 models has a lefty fork and 650b tires. However, on the Trek website in the USA, it shows 2017 Bad Boy 3 with a fatty rigid fork and 700c tires (no Bad Boy 4 yet). Thus, I can't do a comparison with available data.

    From your experience, is it better to pay full price for next year model or buy clearance of current year?

    New to commuting (well, having a dedicated commuter instead of taking a road bike) and just ordered this - Large Cannondale Bad Boy Commuter Bike | eBay
    I know nothing about it other than I figure it's sort of like a Slate I'd be less upset about losing to theft.
    If I like it I'll probably put drop bars on it, but I'm certain I want to lose that triple up front asap. Ideally a 1x11 setup is what I'd go for; is that a possibility? I've seen the Alfine option but I'm thinking more along the lines of your basic SRAM GX stuff

    Looking at buying a Moto Carbon

    Hey guys! I read the posts and am now super hyped about grabbing this Moto Carbon off Craigslist for $850. First of all..is that a good price (even though its 6yrs old)? And also, is it a 2009 Moto Carbon 3 or a 2010 Moto Carbon 2?

    It also has a chip in the fame. (shown in the last picture) Do you think this is something I should worry about with a carbon frame? ...or does it not look too bad.

    I use the 700 x 35c It's ok but thinking changing to the size 650B x 1.5 like the 2017 babdboy

    That saddle looks very comfy, and with that handlebar, it makes a totally different bike from the original builld. It probably changes the entire riding position for the rider as well. How does it ride?

    It rides really comfy. BUT I think I now need a seatpost that has a bigger setback and a longer stem. I was going for a very comfortable commuter with the bar and saddle but now I feel that where my hands are positioned now is a bit too close. I'm really nitpicking but having a few inches more would feel much better. I'm also changing it to a 1 x 11 drivetrain just to lessen the clutter and I don't think I'll ever need that much gear for the way I'm using it.

    offical 2017 Bay Boy model pictures

    The USA Cannondale and REI websites have finally been updated within the last day or so with the 2017 Bad Boy models. The Cannondale site show the Bad Boy 1, 2 and 4 models with the different configurations that each model brings. REI only lists the 2017 Bad Boy 1 and 4. Also REI has dropped the prices on their 2016 Bad Boy 1 and 4 models by 20%.

    Hi - I'm in Melbourne, AU and have been riding a BB Disc Solo 2011 for a year until a careless motorist put a 6cm long dent in my frame, rendering it dangerous to ride. I'm now back on two wheels with a BB 0 2014 and enjoying the Alfine 11 speed hub! Having said that, most of the parts from the BB 2011 are fine (including OPI bars with USB light, headshock Lefty, both wheels, SLX rear mech, cranks & chainwheel, XTR front mech & shifters, Deore hydraulic brakes) so if anyone needs parts...

    Just got my fork replaced last week. It took about 4months for the parts to arrive. The only difference from the original fork is It's got no reflective logos on it. Anyone else here got a recall service??

    I installed the new parts cept for pedals, gotta say front end does feel lighter, I honestly did this just for aesthetic purposes not to save weight. The ergon grips are great but the grey is an eyesore i was told they dont come in full black anymore. Tomorrow i'll be adjusting everything so hereba few pics.

    Hi all,

    I have just purchased my first bike in about 15 years and went for the Cannondale Bad Boy 2.

    I'm looking to switch the tyres for the scwalbe marathon plus 32's as I need something a little more robust.

    My question:

    Would I be able to fit these mudguards without any 'DIY' adjustments?

    SKS Bluemels Matt black 700 x 35mm

    I wasn't exactly too sure how they attached?

    (I'm not too fussed about a little extra weight as I'm going to be spending a large amount of time towing a chunky little 2 year old along in a trailer)

    Any help appreciated ☺

    Hello everyone. 2013 Bad Boy 9 owner here. I browse the thread here and there to admire some of the builds. I wondered myself if it would be worth it to build my bad boy as a drop bar road bike. Im signed up for my first sprint length triathlon in October and the bike portion is only 15 miles and relatively flat. I've thought about getting a new road bike or just upgrading my bad boy.     My favorite Cannondale dealer has confirmed that the BB1 will be available in France in June. Pre-orders can be placed now. But I guess that you guys will be able to put your hands earlier on the BB1.

    Update

    Upgraded wheels

    Got a better set of wheels(DT swiss 1501 XC) and wider gravel tires(Schwalbe g-one).
    It just got infinitely more enjoyable to ride. Going off-road is actually something I look forward to now. It just gave me a whole new way of riding. Definitely worth it.
    First time going tubeless though, and it's a bit of a hassle having to pump air almost everyday for the first week. It's a bit ok now, hopefully it stays that way.

    Found a nice deal on a new 2012 Bad Girl petite frame which I'm building out for my wife. Got to the point where I'm ready to install brakes and rear derailleur (it's going to be a 1x10) but I'm stuck on cable routing.

    There are two cable stops that enter the down tube behind the head tube, and one large hole on the underside of the down tube and one small hole in the bottom bracket (as shown in the picture below).

    No cable guide came with the frame.

    Ideally I would like to route both the rear derailleur cable and a cable for the mechanical rear brake through the down tube, though it appears to me that the frame was intended to route a hose for a hydraulic rear brake external to the frame.

    Can anyone prove routing instructions and/or a picture of the stock setup? Is there supposed to be a cable guide or stop under the bottom bracket?

    Has anyone done a 1x10/11 with a mechanical rear brake routing the brake cable through the down tube?

    Can anyone offer any advice on a Thompson X4 stem for a Fatty DL50? My current stem says 1.56" but the Thomson is listed as 1.5". Will it fit? Cheers

    No they are not compatible

    1.56 is a weird size for sure and not so common. Hard to find stems for it. I had same problem on my BB Ultra with headshock.

    I actually found it much better on the road than the Kojaks. It just felt it rolled better, not sure why since it had small knobs as opposed to the slicks. First it felt really comfortable and rolled over everything. Not sure if it had to do with running it Tubeless but it just felt less rolling resistance. Then that may also be because of the much lighter DT swiss wheelset i put it on compared to the heavy stock wheelset the kojaks were on.

    Anybody tried putting drop bars on their badboys?
    I get the feeling it'll be better for longer rides.

    Has anyone had a problem with your solo dl50 fork? Cannondale replaced mine for a safety recall a few months ago. I finally went out for a ride and returned home, noticed that oil's leaking underneath the fork. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the damper. Anyone else had the same issue?

    Is that a small frame? How tall are you if you don't mind me asking.

    No, that is XL frame (I'm 190cm), these rims make it look smaller.
    Actually there was enough space for me even with original handlebar - I just wanted to have more aggressive look I think.
    When I bought that handlebar I purchased 12cm stem, then a little shorter one 10cm and finally I got 6cm which fits me perfect.

    Here it is with (still) original Magura brakes:

    Hello. Have you had any issues with your solo fork at all? such as leaky damper or lock out feature not working etc. Have you got your fork serviced by Cannondale since the day you bought it? Some people say that cannondale solo/lefty forks are known to be very unreliable. Just wondering if anyone else had a simillar experience like me. Mine has a leaky damper, so I just called up the distributor who replaced my fork a few months ago for a recall from Cannondale, and they said it sounds like a leaky damper, and asked me to bring the bike in for an inspection.     No, I've never noticed any oil in there. But what I just have discovered is that I must use A LOT of force to turn that knob (see picture - I don't know english name).

    Same here. The knob on this new fork is also very hard to turn, but the one on the original fork was very smooth and easy to turn. Thought this newly replaced fork is normal, but now i'm not so sure.

    For 2 years (my BB is 2014 model) I have used that knob very rarely. At the beginning it was turning nicely and smoothly. Not so long ago I just wanted to turn it and ... well it was very hard to turn. Apart from this I have not had any problems with it since I bought it.

    I see. Actually I didn't even know if this solo shok has oil damper inside until I got this newly replaced fork. Later I found out that my original fork also had the damper broken and oil was all leaked out. So the only thing that was holding my weight the whole time was the spring inside. Of course it bottomed out very easily with no oil, no air (FYI I don't normally lock out the fork while riding the road) and I thought it was the way it's supposed to be. I didn't know all this until I took it for the recall service. When I got my bike back with the new fork on, I noticed a huge difference. It felt noticeably much stiffer than my original fork and felt a lot nicer when riding with the knob opened. You might wanna have a cannondale dealer to look at it. Who knows if a quick lube is all that's needed

    Hello.. new here, been lurking here since I got the 2016 bad boy 1 a couple of months ago. Have a question and hoping you guys could help..
    The bike came with Cannondale C2 wheelset, would the Schwalbe G-one Speed (700 x 30) fit the wheels and the bike? I understand current tires (kojaks) came with tubes, I intend to run tubeless, shouldnt be a problem, right?

    The tire will fit definitely but I'm pretty sure the C2 wheelset is not made tubeless ready. You can try the Stan's tubeless kit see if it works. I run the Schwalbe G one 38 running tubeless but on a tubeless ready wheelset.

    Thanks badon... I saw a post on page 52 where the g-one was installed on the c2, but could have been running with tube or with the kit you mentioned. I will check with my LBS. worst case I think I will run them with tube.

    Here's some pics of mine. I found the bare tires were too slick when it rains around here which is quite often. Unfortunately the reason I ended up switching was because I lost my whole back rim locked up in front of a secure building in south lake union, right next to the police station, too. At some point when I get a job again I'll have to start putting some more money into it now that I have a better idea of what I want for it. Lately I've been riding 14 mi every day from beacon hill to broadway and roy then back. This bike has held up well and I've had no problems with it asides from having to replace the back rim, and cassette which got stolen. I'd like to put a thicker/fatter tire on it but I'm not sure what I can get away with:
