The idiot doesn't even have the correct components listed. Glad that ebay has so far chosen to let this fraudulent item stand without any action at all. This is why I would never ever buy from ebay.

Well, looks like he updated his pics and removed the one of my bike. Guess that's good enough for ebay, rather than just remove it for "attempted" fraud.

Doubt it was fraud. He probably just coudnt be bothered to take his own pics and thought that your bike was the same as his bike.

Not quite. His bike had a full fork and different components and an older model. Mine was a lefty. Imagine bidding on it and learning that it's different than what is shown. If not fraud than misleading at best.

    request for ideas

anyone know what kind of chain lube comes on a badboy? is it a wax? what lube are people using?

also, anyone know about touchup paint for the badboy? i picked up some abrasions last year on my 2011bb solo when carrying bikes around on my hitch mount bike carrier.

i got myself a kinetic road machine indoor trainer for christmas. keeps me cranking the miles in the winter. anyone else doing the same? i'm seeing wear on the rear. i'll rotate tires mid-winter and may look for a new set of tires come spring. i like the stock slick and hope i'll be able to find something comparable.

(doing my share to keep the thread alive. LOL.)

Thanks to this sick thread, I hastily pulled the trigger on a 2010 Bad Boy frame w/o researching it enough. I tried, but piece part info is hard to come by. I'm anxiously awaiting its delivery.Maybe you owners can help me with some info in the mean time. What kind of bottom bracket will it take? Will I be able to use a Truvativ Howitzer? What kind and size headset?

I like the look of the square looking fat head lefty fork but was told it wouldn't fit. The MTB Lefty fork is nice but makes the bike look too much like a MTB; I already have too many of those, 5 to be exact =P. Any thoughts on forks?

    Winter with Spiked Tires

So this year I decided to ride all winter. Added the Schwable Ice Spiker Pro's and took over my girls 26er wheels. I guess I will be building a pair of Chris King Stan's ZTR Flows for that bike also. Going back to the stock shimanno is a step back, but no way I could fit large tires on the 29er Kings I use.

Anyways a little pic of the bike right now.

Thought I would add pic with regular 26er (Schwable Furious Fred) now that there is no snow. Waiting on my Chris Kings to be ready, but loving riding in the "dirty"

Amazingly agile the BB as a MTB.

Sweet! If Aston Martin made a bike it'd probably look a lot like this. The tyres are very James Bond-esque.

If you could only hear the sound they make on pavement and left over sand.

It roars louder than hell and has this strange sort of popping sound. I will switch them over to the Furious Fred's in a day or two as all the snow is gone and we are in the plus temps now.

The Hell I raised this winter with them, my Sidi cleats with a pair of Mematec foot warmers, and Mavic inferno gear ruled. In a way I am sad to switch to normal tires. However I got a new pair of Hutchinson Fusion 3 700 X 23 for the King/Crest's.

I highly recommend them for winter though if your on Ice and snow. Simply awesome!

nice! have you developed a flat spot on your tires also? i've done about 300miles so far and they're looking pretty bad. i backed off the tension but had to tighten it back up since the tire squealed with each power stroke; like it was slipping a bit. anyway, i'm new to trainers and maybe new tires is just par for the course.

All, I own a 2012 BB with the lefty shock. I am considering upgrading the crankset. Any suggestions? I am thinking I want to keep the gears, so something that swaps right in. PLEASE give my your thoughts, I don't mind spending a little $ to get it right. The one that is stock is OK, yet I see the crankset one of the most updated items on these bikes.

The local bike shop recommended I go with the Trekking stuff from Cannondale so that I don’t need any other equipment changes besides the crankset. They also said stick with the 175mm because it fits the bike, XL frame. I am 6/4 about 235lbs. Thanks SO MUCH for your help.

    1. Truvativ Firex Trekking 3.3 GXP 175 Crank Set (Blast Black, 48-36-26
    2. Shimano Deore 2-piece 9-Speed Mountain Bicycle Crank Set - FC-M590
    3. SHIMANO DEORE FC-M591 TREKKING
    4. Model Number FC-M660-10
    5. Or an XT model that works…
    6. Or other recommendations

OK, I need one of these. I just moved to Florida yesterday (The Villages) and I want a flat bar road bike to maul the bike paths. I was looking at the Specialized Sirrus Comp but this thing has got my attention. My local St Louis dealer doesn't sell Cannondale and the dealers down here are more interested in telling me what I need and selling me entry level bikes they have in stock.

Does anybody have or seen a large BB9 or BB5 available? Or a left over 2011? Have cash/need a Bad Boy.

    Please help!

    Thanks in Advance

    Tom

so i just got a pic of the bb and seems to be a 2009. i really dont know the difference between the 09 and 2010 models, you guys can help me out with that one. the good news is, it did look like there were disc mounts on the fork so im assuming i would be able to upgrade in the future if i pull the trigger on it.

Hi all I picked up my 2012 BB yesterday and had a good ride to work last night, its the standard Alivio version with the Fatty rigid but all the components will be changed in the coming months.

The only edition from the LBS is the eggbeater 2s which they put in the deal for me

And a pic with my other C/dale

    Hope you like

    Tubeless" Stan's ZTR Crest 29er, Hutchinson Fusion 3 (700X23)

So I been chatting with a few people and after Stan's gave one advice then a different on their message board I thought I would update here...
Yes you can run Tubeless tires on Crest 29er. Had Hutchinson Intensives at 25mm but they where defective, and could not source another pair here in Germany. Now I got Fusion 3 (seems much faster), on them.

Bad Boy Tubeless seems to rule

Oh also I think Speedneedle and Nokon Cables are also new from last pics.

Drop Bar Cannondale Bad Boy with Hydro brakes

Thought it might be time to breath life back into this thread.

When I lived in NYC the standard bars were fine (if limited in position) but now that I live in PDX my riding is less stressful and so I can afford to finally do a drop bar conversion. There was a bike I saw once (here?) that had a set of drops with white tape and I loved it so that became my inspiration. I'd planned on modding the stock levers to be like cross brakes but when I stopped by Universal Cycles to look for a stem I found that Hope had released their conversion kit. I always liked Hope brakes and the kit seemed very sano and so I went for it. The stem is too long right now and I haven't wrapped bars in forever so that didn't go well but overall I'm very pleased with the conversion and I like the look.

The cranks came off my mountain bike and I ditched the granny as I never use it. I keep thinking about replacing them with something more road or cross oriented but for now they work fine. I might look into having them powder coated or anodized black.

I had to machine and weld a new bracket for the Hope master cylinder and it doesn't really lock into position but the cables keep it centered. I'll weld a tab or put a pin in it later.

Since the majority of my riding is taking my daughter to daycare in a trailer I really wanted and needed to keep the hydraulic discs for their power. Here's the rear caliper and that silver thing is the hitch to the trailer.

I love the way campy's ergo levers shift and went with a set I found on ebay. The cable from the hoods to the master is short and there's no sponginess - just very solid powerful stopping.

I used a Jtek Shiftmate adapter and I can't tell you how happy I am with it. It converted the Campy 10 speed shifters to work with the Shimano SLX 9 speed rear derailleur perfectly. I'm still surprised at how well it works and how well the bike shifts. Once I get my shorter stem I think the fit will be perfect.

I needed a new saddle so I just kept the white theme going with it and a set of new tires which I think really help to show off the Solo front end. I will probably have to put fenders back on as we're not through with spring here but for now I like to just look at it like this. It's certainly got the bad boy look but it's also different which I like so I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

2011 Solo headshock is not an idea frame to convert to drop due to it's taller head tube, that said, it is still very nice looking bike, how much is the Hope conversion kit?
