Here's my 2009 29'er 2. I picked up this spring on sale and am really liking it. I was coming off of a 1995 M800 Beast, so it was time for an upgrade. I had always wanted a Lefty and I wanted one of the Made-in-the-USA frames before they go away.

I've made a few changes as I've found deals and others just to suit the kind of trails I ride.

My last ride was especially muddy, so I had her cleaned up for today's ride so I shot a couple pics.

    ----------------

    Frame: 2009 29er 2, Large
    Fork: stock - Lefty DLR
    Handlebar: Ritchey WCS Carbon Flat - 31.8 x 580
    Grips: Ritchey WCS Ergo foam
Brakes: stock - Avid Juicy 3 180/165 mm
    Shifters: SRAM X-7 (no indicator)
    Front Derailleur: Shimano XT M771
Rear Derailleur: 2010 SRAM X.9 Medium cage
    Cassette: SRAM PG-980 11-34
    Chain: stock Shimano HG-53
    Cranks: stock Shimano M521
Pedals: Ritchey V4 SE (red from Nashbar)
    Rims: stock - Jalco X320
    Hubs: stock Shimano M475 rear
Tires: stock Conti Race King 29x 2.2
    Saddle: stock Cannondale CO2
Seatpost: Ritchey WCS Carbon 1-bolt, 31.6x350

What's wrong with a saddle bag? I still carry a spare tube and hand pump in my jersey pockets. In socal Where I ride I don't need a camel back. Two bottles is plenty plus theres available water.

So what do you carry in there that you couldn't in your jersey?

I'm teasing you... with the super light parts and the build you have, I just thought it was funny to see a heavy saddle bag. Kind of like seeing a Porsche 911 GT2 with a trailer. But seriously, very nice bike!

No worries I figured as much. One tube a few tools and stuff. Thanks for the kind words on the build.
I couldn't come to putting anything on the back of my 996.

It sure does. Very nice to not need a lockring-wrench in the woods and no chance to break the trackthread.

But very useless if you dont ride fixed.

Hey guys, quick question for you all. I have the chance to buy a new (left over) single speed Caffeine 29er at a pretty good price. One thing I am curious about, can these bikes be outfitted with a derailleur hanger on the rear to make it a multi speed bike? Thanks.

The bike was 23lbs and 10oz (23.63 lbs, 10,283g) with pedals and tubes stock. With my changes the bike is now 23.06 lbs w/o tubes, (added sealant), put on a bottle cage and a wireless computer. Coming is an X.0 Rear der, which will drop about 30g, and I am in the market for a BB30 26-39 crank, This Afterburner is a porker and I don't need a triple. I am going to wait for the X.0 because the price of XX is absurd. Any suggestions that are cheaper than XX? I know I also have to cut down the brake cables, please don't remind me. I have the Hope kit on order.

Since the pictures were taken the bike lost another 39g when I swapped to a Specialized Phenom 143 (231.8g) saddle from the Fizik Aliante XM MG (271.0g)

I don't think so. You could, however, put an Alfine or Rohloff on it

    Update:

In an unexpected turn of events I came across a deal I couldn't pass up on a set of Hollowgram Si SL's. Here they are on the bike, dropped a little less than 300g from the FSA Afterburner. The Race Face Turbines shift a lot quicker and a lot more crisp than I thought they would. I anyone reading is interested in a set, don't hesitate to get them, it's a great set up. Only gripe with them is that they are heavy.

Don't worry Eliflap, no need to criticize the triple, the XX spider should be in either tomorrow or Monday and rings on Wednesday!

Only other thing on my agenda is a new set of carbon bars. I cut 10mm off each side to see how the bike feels before I buy new bars. I think I will probably go with something like the Salsa Pro Moto Carbon. I know the bar isnt weight weenies best friend, but you can't beat the sweep of the Salsa bars.
