Hope Picked up my 2009 Cannondale Caffeine 2 29er tonight.

I swapped out a few parts, went to the Eggbeater SL's instead of the Smartys, Went with Sram OX Twist Shifters, Geax Saguaro 2.2in Tires Instead of the Race Kings and Went with a much more Comfy WTB Vigo Saddle.

The Pics I took are crap, Poor lighting and with a Cell Phone. I will get some better one on this Forum soon.

That's a great bike. I rode the same model last year, although with a slightly different spec.

I ordered a 2010 29er 2 this week so curious to say the least whether it will stack up like the last one did. I couldn't resist the bomber green color, although the X7 stuff is going the way of the dinosaur real quickly.

    Enjoy!

    Hope

My best bud in California rode the green one (it's speced out higher than mine) at MT Sac.
I'm gonna put mine on Flows in a few weeks and get a Thompson seat post for it. The twist shifters really work well on this bike. (I have the trigger in case I dont like them but I doubt I will go back to triggers.

    29er 2 2009 now 2010

I rode that bike to try and really liked it but couldn't resist the higher spec'ed 2010 29er 2. I'll be getting mine this weekend. Anyone have any pointers for that bike. First bike I've owned after a long hiatus.

I'm jealous, I love that 29er 2, did you get it in the green.

Hope I rode it to work today

Love the Twist shifting, Not a fan of the single clamp seat post, its hard to adjust the angle and slipped on me (tiltwise). Still waiting on a shorter stem. Here's some slightly better pics at work today

29" rear wheel develops 10% more distance in a round

so gears will be 10% hard to push .

so first thing to do is to have the correct ratio on crankset , remaining a 11-34 as cassette.

i can suggest you to install 40-31-21 for a triple

or if you will transfrom your crank in a double , maybe a 37-21 or similar

    i have 37-21 on a F29er and a 37-25 on a Flash carbon 29er

only one situation you will hate my tips : on asphalt , riding over 37-38 km/h

pushing more , you are going over spin .

... but all other situations will love them

Hope I'm already making changes to this bike

Drivetrain related changes are not high priority, the 34t in the 22 was plenty low today on a tough climb that many weekend warriors bypass, I just swapped out the seat post for a Thompson today after the ride and waiting on a shorter and lower stem for the Bike.

The Bike will be on Flows next as this is the next big investment. Yeah the 29in wheels make gears feel taller the 2010's have 36t rears, Not sure I need a 36t but would probably go that Direction with a Double front. To me the Big Ring is almost useless (figures since I'm a single speeder) and the Middle could be Taller. Loving the Twist shifting

Also my Ride Review will be posted on the 29er Fourm
