Demo 7 is the bike that you should compare Perp to. Demo 8 is a DH bike with slacker angles.

I wouldn't trail ride on a Perp, wouldn't be fun. If you want to have fun going down AND climbing, look at the Prophet, Prophet MX or even a Gemini with a light build...

    Hi,

The Perp is much more of a free ride / all mountain ride than a DH race frame.

The angles are not as slack as a pure DH frame, so its better handling in tighter techy stuff (like say the Shore). Its also a tad lighter (than say a Judge) so its a more efficient peddler in those quick spurts (like to get up and over a ladder or even the odd swoopy section).

I had a Glory, which is a pure DH race frame (much lower BB too) and was a blast on pure gravity runs, but not so fun trying to climb ANYTHING, even the short ups from the lifts at Whistler. I got the Perp because I like the more versital geometry, but Im not considering racing DH, and dont get me wrong, 40-45 LBS (depending on your config) gets heavy up any hill, but the difference in ahead angle (at leat for me) on the occasions when you have to, makes all the difference .

If you want to get into DH racing, and your going to ride all gravity ,IMO get the slacker geometry like a Judge (it will help in very steep sections and at high speeds). If your going to ride the occassional shuttle and more techy stuff and stunts, I think the Perp is the way to go

However, if this is to be your only bike, and you want a versital all around & "trail" bike, look elswere! Do like Dan said "look into the Prophet, Prophet MX or even a Gemini with a light build"
