here is my 2011 SL3 XL, could not stand the white saddle, white grips, crappy tires, and i have always wanted to try clipless.

    ODI Rouge grips
Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1 tires (aramid bead)
    Time Atac Z clipless pedals
    Charge Spoon saddle
    Cateye micro wireless cycle computer

so far i have 2 miles on it, then it snowed 3 feet in my area, and its been under 10 degrees most days since....cant wait to ride again!

Saddle, grips, tires, pedals, and get a cycle computer, or a water bottle and cage if you want.

In my opinion i cant stand every single thing on my bike saying "cannondale" on it, and i could not stand the white saddle, and white grips (even though the grips were nice). Everyone knows the tires suck, and the platform pedals are ok i guess, but like i said, i have always wanted to go clipless.

Mines on order, BBQ SL2 29er. Been waiting six weeks so far. I'll post picks when I get her.

I'm glad you started this thread Lax, lumping trails into the same thread with higher end F bikes and Caffeines was casting too big a net IMHO.

Had to re-post this pick! I got a BBQ, but this pick is making me question it. I had the same color scheme on my BMX growing up and am loving it on the SL2.

Here is my first post and my new-to-me 2010 Trail F4. It's my first bike since being a kid (over 20 years ago) and I'm glad I bought it. I live in Southern Japan and have yet to find any trails. Luckily I have miles and miles of scenic mountain roads all around me. Here's a few pics so far:

Other than a Catseye computer and a light, I have yet to buy anything for it. If anything, I could see the fork getting upgraded (recommendations welcomed). I have my almost-8 year old son riding with me on a cheap-o $50 bike, so I just ordered him a Louis Garneau 22-inch mtb so he can ride with me. White, to match mine:

Anybody had any problems with their DC wheelsets? I've just got the DC 3.0's (came on my Sl-5), and I can't really find any reviews on them except that they're knock-offs. Seem plenty strong to me though.

DC wheels are OK, A bit on the heavier side but I have done drops 4-5ft on them where they are still true.

My only complaint is I have not been able to convert them to tubeless after 5 tries. Got the whole Stans' shabang. One dude did convert it to tubeless - Carbon 66 on MTBR but he does not reply to IM

What of any upgrades have you guys done to your trail's SL so far? I'm trying to Kenda slant six tire over the small block 8 - but I have not had a good ride on the new tires yet.

My mate just got an SL5 last week, and whilst out doing a quick lunch ride today, on a single track next to a golf course, pretty much level, a bit uneven with some roots here and there, the stem came loose (stem and steerer), the wheel turned about 90, and he was thrown over the side of the bike (bike is ok btw), got up and and the front wheel is buckled. Couple of loose spokes. Had to reposition the handlebar, still stiff, but tighten the stem a little bit more anyway.

He came away with a 5" gash on his right thigh.

I guess you do get a dud wheel once in awhile ... LBS contacting the rep to see about a replacement. LBS did confirmed that he torqued the stem bolts to 5Nm when he built up the bike ... hmmm!!!

    Lets see ...

1 hr later ... rep called him and he will get a new wheel ... he is happy but ... has lost some trust in the bike, which will need to be build up again ...
