Not Sure Exactly What Model Lefty I Have, But Have Problem

I have an '02 Jekyll 800 with the original Lefty fork. All I can say for what model Lefty it is is it says Lefty Headshok Si. I'm a Lefty lingo idiot so please excuse my ignorance. The knurled metal knob that has a slight red coloring to (I believe this is the pre-load dampening adjustment?) has popped out and I can't get it to go back in. Also, my manual lockout lever does nothing now, no matter what position, the shock won't lock out.

Is my shock screwed? Is it safe to ride on it until I can get it to my LBS?

In all likelihood it's quite safe to ride.

The red knob is your rebound control. Push it in till you feel resistance, then turn it while maintaining gentle downward pressure. It will drop when the slot in it, lines up with the spade it's slot fits onto, lines up.

If you have no lockout it most likely indicates your need to get the fork rebuilt. A service is recommended once a year by Cannondale, has been the case for years.

FYI, you have a Lefty DLR, most likely with a ti leg, it'll say titanium on the leg if it is.

Yup, i recommend Mendon quite Highly. he rebuilt a Lefty for me and the price was much lower that it would have been if i sent to Cannondale. His turnaround is good and the quality of work is top notch.

Looks like I had the magic touch tonight after trying off and on and got the rebound control knob to reseat itself. I think during the winter I'll have to get the shock serviced and possibly rebuilt to address the lockout issue I'm still having. Thanks all, may have to send out it to you Mendon.
