    New Cannondale Scalpel 3 owner

    Hello all.

Just purchased a 2013 Scalpel 3. LBS has to order it but should have it within the week.

Wanted to know if there is anything I need to do before getting out on the trails, like tires, etc.

Also, is there anything I need to look out for with the Lefty fork, or any other components?

Lastly, how easy is it to run 650b tires on this this bike? Is there a lot that needs to be changed in order to keep the frame height the same as the 29?

Why change a 29er to 650B? Seems if this were the preferred route, you should have chosen a different bike. The stock tires are ok, and a matter if personal presence. Just ride it. You will find things you may want to upgrade as you log more saddle time.

OK.....650b is stupid...the bike is perfect as is.

That being said...the shifters suck and they dont have the "feel " of the x9 ones
Stock wheels....cut the spokes and lace up a set of WTB tubless hoops. The sun ringle infernos are crap
    Brakes....meh ok for now
Stock tires are crap. First ride I ripped sidewalls on both.

Oh and do yourself a favor and ditch the stock saddle...
