New question here. Max size disc rotor on LeftyPBR Max 130mm

Hi, wondering what effect on brake dive and handling will arise if I increase the stock 160mm rotor to 180mm? Is the 09 lefty max rated to take an increase?
Feeling a bit underbraked at times on rougher downhill sections.

Look forward to any help/advice set ups with this.
    Thanks in advance.

I run 203's on many of my Leftys, they are older, but the chassis are the same. You'd be fine with 185's. As for dive, can't say as I notice it, but that may just be me

Yup, no problems. The taper of the rubber boot on Lefties was introduced so people could run up to 203mm rotors without the rotor cutting the boot, every Lefty can run up to the 203 rotors...

I ran a Magura 200 mm front for a yr or so on my lefty. No problems at all.
Lead by my Lefty............... right down the trail, no brakes.

    Thanks for the info.
This will be my next upgrade. Interresting that Cannondale thought of including the taper on the boots but nowhere could I find in their manuals or website about up graging to larger rotors. Almost as if they don't want people to know about it.

Have you done the upgrade yet? Looking at doing the same on my Rize2, and possibly up to a 185 on the rear.
Also, do I stick with Avid rotors, and what pads do people recommend to run?

    Cheers

Hi Kavika, I have not upgraded yet but intend to before too long. I am running Avid rotors and will probably stick with these. I also am running Avid sintered pads, they last well but howl when wet. They do make the brake kind of feel a bit wooden though and seem to lack initial bite. May be time to try some other brand or organic pads. Any recomendations???
