Hi, I picked up a nice 2011 Scalpel Carbon Frame. I'm considering building it up as a 27.5. Just looking for ride Impressions, what type of terrain it excels on, what it doesn't, what it can handle etc.. Just trying to figure out if it would suit my riding style. I'm not a racer, would mostly be using it as a trail bike on a variety of terrain.
Would also welcome wheel recommendations that aren't crazy expensive. Thanks
Shortly!?
The best XC full-suspension bike you can get. Although i've never tried the 29er one.
My bike is faster and secure than it was, gives me confidence to try everything, and go faster in all situations.
It climbs and descends better, because it goes easily everywhere.
Try one if you have the chance.
I just converted my 2011 Scalpel M and love it. That said, I'm having an issue with the back tire (RR 2.25 on Stan's Crest) rubbing the back of the front derailleur (X0) on seated compressions. I can take big hits when I'm off the saddle, but little concave rollers do it just about all the time. Anybody else have this issue? Solutions? Does the Pancetti rear tire offer greater clearance? Thanks!
If you are looking for a rear tyre that gives the best clearence possible, you need a Rubena Charybois 2.0. Loads of room, more than anything i have tried so far and if more or less like a Nobby Nic but thinner. Untitled | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
