Lefty Steerer tube for 1 1/8th stems

I've seen pictures of these here but does anyone know of a production part or a way to actually BUY such a thing? I'm asking because I think at least -10 degree is going to be neccessary on my Flash 29'er and Cannondale doesn't make that. FRM stem will probably do the trick on a stock Cannondale steerer but just in case it would be nice to know of other options...

Don't they just make 1 1/8th steerers? What I'm looking for is 1.5 Cannondale standard tube with a taper down to 1 1/8th at the top for aftermarket stems.

The only ones I've seen on this forum are custom... Eliflap's, Mattias, etc.

Perhaps one of them could hook you up.

Speak to Mattias Has anyone spoken to Mattias recently?

He will hook you up. I've ordered a Lefty Steerer which is made from UD carbon with Ano green parts. Usually takes between 5-6 weeks. I guess he's a very busy man but I know it's worth the wait.

project 321 should have a tapered steerer out or coming out VERY soon. email jake at p321 or you can send him a pm, he goes by pumpkinbiter here on mtbr.

very cool guy/company and good service. they do all the machining in house, so he can give you a VERY good idea on when the tapered steerer is going to be out.

i am looking at buying one if i build a 1x10 santa cruz tallboy with a lefty pbr. the tallboy uses a "mixed" headset with a 1.5" external lower headset and a 1 1/8" inset upper race.

    cheers.

so from what i'm hearing.. project 321 is going to make an adaptor for 1.5- 1.25 headtube's! that'd be awesome for people running tapered.
I was thinking you could just run the 1.25 adaptor with a reducer (like cane creek's) on the bottom and a normal 1.25 headset with the lefty adaptor to solver your problems..but i could be wrong
A yeti asr5c would be nice with a lefty
    08 SS c'dale f4
    07 Prophet
    10 Yeti DJ
    Yeti Arc-x
    11 Yeti asr5-c
    ..and they place nice together!

I think I saw exactly what your talking about at the Thompson booth at I-bike last year.
I forgot about it since I haven't heard or seen of it since. You may give them a call and see what ever came of that. We don't make anything like that now. You can always get
the adpaters for a 1.125 headset and use our 1.125" lefty adapter.

This sounds nice. I am going to go lefty for my next build (unfortunately Cannondale doesn't have the type of bike I am looking for). And now more and more bikes come with the tapered HT, so this I will follow.

Yes, I may need that. Do you want to provide it? And if you do, how would you?

Looking to get a tallboy and project321 adapter too. Is it fine to use my 80mm fork with the tallboy, because they recommend 100mm?

Does anyone know if these steerers (MCFK in particular) come with a starnut or expander wedge, or would I need to figure that out on my own?

But I mean for using the MCFK carbon steerer (tapered 1.5" -> 1.125") with a Lefty on a non-cannondale frame... surely the requires some sort of expander to adjust the headset...
