    lefty question?

hey guys i need some help. I have a 03 jekyll with a lefty dlr. The red knob for damper adjustment pops up when i go riding. The bike has very few miles on it, maybe about 100 and has done this even when new. Is this normal???

    thanks

When that red knob pops up, it means your done riding. You should then head home.
Keep riding and you'll end up over baked.

    I couldn't resist. I haven't yet eaten.
Speaking of leftys, my 04 jekyll 1000's red knob should only have 130 degrees of adjustment, yet just spins like a top. I too better get mine in to be checked.

Your original post says nothing about the oil.

sorry...forgot to write about the oil

my lefty leaked a small amount of oil form the bottom of the fork. it was just enough to wet the metal part at the bottom below the shock boot. It only did it once while i was riding with the lock out and the next time i went riding it didnt leak. I think it was because i had the fork locked out and i hit a few bumps. I road the paved road with the fork locked and forgot to unlock it for a little bit when i hit the trail. I asked the bike shop about it and they said it wasnt a big deal.

Not a big deal. It may have been the bearing grease liquifying. Do not worry about it, unless the oil is pooling arount the caliper, and the lower leg is always wet.
