    Lefty Max SPV

I have a lefty max 140mm fluid flow spv (2005 I think?) on my 06 Cdale Phrophet 600. Just bought the bike and it looks like it has leaked oil out of the boot, in turn affecting the hydro brake caliper and pads. It seems to still work fine but this is my first lefty and missing oil can't be good in any case (common sense)...thinking maybe a seal/gasket? Read a lot about Craig at Mendon Cyclesmith I just dont know about cost? Just want to fix this before redoing the brakes and having this happen again or damage the shock. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Standard service will take care of it, less than $100, all day long.

You could PBR it too, if you wanted to make that fork feel and perform a lot better than the SPV allows.....

What is PBR? Other than beer...and what would that cost? Also, the brakes, front and rear are squalling and I have no stopping power at all and they both scrub. I assume that the front is like this bc of the oil that got on/in it but not sure why the rear is like that also. Tried recentering them but no dice. Should I just go to my lbc and have them svc them?
    Thanks

This is old news now but the details are all there.

Good news for older Lefty owners!

Are the prices still the same? I'm going to have to save for a few weeks to do anything to it since I just paid for the bike. If I plan on doing the pbr upgrade, will I damage anything needed if I still do some light xc riding until I can get it to you? You're definitely my go to for this stuff from now on. Any suggestions on the brakes? Also the rear shock is the Manitou Swinger 3 way...it's decent but I do plan on upgrading that come tax return season. Any suggestions for a good but reasonably priced rear shock for xc / all mountain?
