    Lefty cartridge question?

I've got a DLR2 that had a PBR conversion done to it and it appears that Cannondale added a small washer that was pressed on the cartridge. I'm guessing this was done since the first version on the DLR2 did not have race clips. Does anyone know if this needs to come off to put it in a newer, say 2011 Lefty with the race clip? If so, how do I get it off, it appears to be on there pretty good. Thanks!

So your fork has non race clip type inner races, and there's a race clip, or clip clip at the top of the damper threads?

Or is there a smooth, stepped, thick washer at the top of the threads?

Or are you referring to something completely different?

    Craig,
Thanks for the reply as always.
Here's the deal... Ex wifes fork, she had a second generation Scalpel with the Carbon DLR2 that had the gold cartridge and the large stainless washer that went at the top of the threads. She sent it back to C-dale and it came back with a green PBR cartridge with some sort of pressed or threaded on stainless collar on at the top of the threads, but smaller than the washer that was on the gold cartridge.

She didn't like the feel of the fork so I gave her one of my Leftys, a Fox version that should be easier for her to maintain(until it breaks). I want to put the green PBR on my '10 carbon Flash that has a race clip. Do I just leave the stainless collar in place on the PBR cartridge or try to remove it somehow? Make sense?

This forks got to come out to you anyways but I'd like to ride it this long weekend if at all possible.

Got it, yes, that solid, stepped washer needs to come off if you're using it on a fork that has a race clip, or race clip/clip clip combo.
