Lefty bearing/race clip fell out during damper removal?!

I just successfully removed the damper from a 2011 Lefty XLR using the proper castle tool. I peeked inside and noticed the upper bearing clip was floating around freely. Will I need to remove the lower in order to reinstall it?

It appears to be a "race clip"... part KF119.

It's the right-most piece pictured here...

    That's the "clip clip".

It sits on top of the other one which is the race clip.

It's a PITA to get it seated back, but yeah, that's what happens when you pull out the damper. Having the outer race retainer tool helps, as it gives you a nice long tool to get it seated properly again.

Happy fishing, all the inner race tops need to be inside those slots.....

Thanks for the quick reply... do I need to remove the lowers/bearings or... spend a couple of hours with chopsticks and a flashlight?

    No additional parts removal required.

Thanks... I got it on... looks like it just rests on their and doesn't pop/click in too securely? I can see how it easily falls out with the damper.

Yep, they don't have any sort of device holding them on, except the damper itself.
