I ride a Scalpel SI 2017 with a lefty 2.0 (2-spring).
When i ride full open, I find the damping/pushing/pumping very annoying, but when riding locked the lefty is too ridgid in my opinion. I know team riders have an upgrade that the lefty is a little bit of ridgid, so when locked you ride over small bumps instead if riding against it.
Does any of you here has this upgrade an what are your thoughts of it?
Many thanks....
I think he means similar like WC riders have. Fully open or half locked. This way they can ride more often with lock on but it's not affecting so much pedaling as compression is still really stiff.
The blowoff of the platform (lockout) is adjustable. It is a series of washers and wave springs. This adjustment does require complete disassembly of the damper however...not for the inexperienced mechanic...best let to the 88's and service centers.
Yes, this is my question, a half open lock... now I know it is possible, I will ask 88+ if they could do the adjustments and let you know the result...
my local cdale dealer did this kind of tune for lefty hybrid 1.0
now locked lefty works similar to propedal on rp2 fox or lock on monarch rt3
