jekyll swing arm uber v question...

I 'might' be getting a super v 2000 and was wondering about the whole 'uber' thing. I kinda get the tab trimming idea on the super v frame but not quite and why do you have to switch swing arms? I read alot of posts so I apologize if this has been asked a million times but I couldn't find out why?

The Jekyll swingarm plus tab mod allows you to use a longer travel rear shock..7.5" eye 2 eye...and the Jekyll swingarm also has disc brake mounts.

Check out the uber forum at www.tryonbike.com, it's very comprehensive and the folks that support that site are a tremendous help. I'm almost done with my conversion.
