I see that the Jekyll 4 comes with X-fusion rear shock instead of the Fox DYAD, do any of you know the performance differences? Other than the travel adjustment of course...
There is no performance with the x fusion and that's the difference,
There is just no competition between them, the x fusion shock was put on the 4 due to keeping costs down for the consumer. The Dyad is a brilliant shock and works so well with the Jekyll
oh ok. Are there other feedbacks out there? Ever since my uberV got stolen I have been without a bike, and I was hoping to get back in the game on a somewhat more affordable level. The Jekyll 4 was only $2000 which is fairly reasonable it seems for a 150mm travel bike, I was hoping that removing the travel adjustment feature wouldn't be a huge deal breaker.
I have both shocks for my Jekyll carbon 2. The X-Fusion is my favorite. The travel adjust on the DYAD was more of a burden to me. half the time I'd get to the bottom of a downhill and realize I forgot to switch it to long travel. Plus the X-fusion is a half pound lighter.
Xfusion seems ok in full travel mode. Not much lock out on Short travel. It is also easier to set up.
Dyad retails for $800. Cannondaleexperts has it for $750 and the lever is another $80
It is an expensive shock but my opinion works better than fusion.
I have a dyad on my Jekyll and an x-fusion on my Trigger. The dyad shock is certainly plusher, but the x-fusion does ride very well on the trigger. I use the remote on x-fusion to firm up the shock on longer climbs. If you can only afford $2k then I think the jekyll 4 is a great option and allows you the option of changing out to dyad shock in the future.
Sorry I didn't mean it to sound so negative? The x fusion is an okay shock and they make some top products but the Jekyll just feels far superior with the Dyad shock.
I'm sure early Jekyll 4 came with dyads? Maybe find one that came from factory with one or go and test ride a 4 with the x fusion and see if it does suit you. Has you've heard from others it's not to every ones taste the Dyad,
So rode them back to back on my Jekyll 3. To me there were two differences:
1) xfusion lighter. Substantial. Can't quantify the delta no scale but xfusion is lighter.
2) elevate mode on xfusion is more of a propedal and at that it didn't feel that good.
On full suspension mode felt as plush ad dyad
The dyad elevate mode definitively changes the bike travel. Couldn't detect that with the xfusion. However, on descent mode xfusion felt just as plush. I mean felt. I didn't ride aggressive down to detect full travel motion diff/ramp etc.
What the specific model of x-fusion (part number)for the jekyll 26 and where they sell porq I have seen that there are several suspension path
