New question here. hydraulic upgrade on my Prophet 600- Hose Length

found a good deal for some Hayes 9's.
on my Medium Prophet, which hose lengths would work?

    rear:
    1300 mm
    1350 mm
    1390 mm

    front
    800mm
    850 mm

    I'm thinking I should be good with the 1350 ( 53") and the 800 (31").

Also...the stock Avids on the 600 are 6" correct? If I get the Hayes, all I would need are the 6" adaptors correct?

    Any helpful comments appreciated...

Measure your existing hose. That will tell you. All you need is a cloth tape measure, used by seamstresses. Very few people are going to have that info, as it rarely comes up.

Stock rotors are 6". You will need 6" adaptors, if the brakes do not come with them. Is the new set used?

Personally, I would do a TPC upgrade on the Lefty before a brake upgrade, but that is me.

The shimano setup uses 800mm front and 1600mm rear

The Prophet 2000 in my garage (Large size frame) was setup with Shimano disc brakes, the hose lengths are 800mm front and 1600mm for the rear. Good luck.

It all depends on the size Prophet that you have.

Cannondale spec's 800mm on all fronts and 1500(small, medium) and 1600 (large, x-large) on all rears.

Remember that you need Interanational Standard adapters to go with the Hayes Post Mount design. 6" rotor are fine but some use a 7" rotor in the front to beef up power.

If the 1300 rear is a good enough deal and you trust yourself bleeding the brakes just buy a longer line and cut to length.

    Cheers
