How not to powdercoat your Headshock
Just a cautionary tale, complete with pictures.
So if you go to PC your frame and fork, do yourself a favor, and have the damper and telescope pulled apart first. Don't just PC the whole thing, oven baking and plastic doesn't go well together.....

For 2005 and newer, yes. Not too sure on cost, likely at least $150.
Fortunately for this guy, the damper hard bits were fine. I replaced seals, plastic caps and bearings, fork runs like new.

I guess if the heat was high enough to melt the nylon the heat treatment of the fork blades is down the toilet as well....wouldn't want to ride that fork, not even with new internals.....

Not a materials science guy, I would assume not though. So much PC going on out there in bike land, it'd be an apparent issue already if it were, no?

According to cannondale Europe it is...that's why they offer a painting service....send your old cdale frame in and get updated graphics and all....a bit expensive, but it will not void your warranty...I wonder if they do that here in the States as well....
