How to fit a carbon railed saddle on a Save Seatpost?

    Hi,

I ride a Flash Ultimate and would like to keep the Save Seatpost. But can you fit an oval Carbon railed saddle like Fizik or Speedneedle in it?

    If yes - how?

I had to get USE to make one for me.

The rails on most carbon saddles are huge compared to the tiny Fizik ones.

I,m running a Selle C64 carbon saddle and it's sweet.

Mostly only stock 1 or 2 types.

For the real deal go to http://use1.com/product/000071/sumo-clamp-kit/

Are happy to help you and sort out what you need.

If you have a Flash Ultimate, it should come stock with the Save post clamp for carbon rails as it is spec'd with the Antares Carbon.

Yes maybe, but the Antares has also specific dimensions see table from USE
Don't try to skimp on the clamp, a carbon railed saddle is costly

By the way, the USE clamp is not really the best for carbon rails. There are worse clamps but also better ones

Do people grease the USE rail clamp on the SAVE? (on the rotating surfaces) I find it really difficult to adjust the pitch of the saddle once the rails are on. I'm sure some a little grease in there would help but make it tippy in use.

Best is to use grease/mounting paste, otherwise everything could gal.

Especially bolt is dry mounted at manufacturing, if not greased and let alone for a while can be a real pain to release.
If on the heavy side, carbon paste does wonders.

I've changed the bolt for Ti, and to be sure release it every 4-6 months.

Can people tell a difference between the Save seatpost (is it noticebly more compliant) than any other 27,2 carbon seat post ie. a lighter new ultimate?
