    headshock boot?

    Hey

I bought a used 2004 cannondale f600SL bike and it didn't come with a boot for the shock (i think it's called a boot judging by what i read in the other threads, the black ribbed part that covers the shock)..
Where can i get a replacement? would cannondale replace it? or is it simple enough to be acquired from a LBS? It seems cheap enough that i should be able to get it anywhere.

    thanks

You can get them at any Cannondale dealership.

$10??? wow for just a simple black rubber thing?
heh is it really that important to have one? can i just cover the front with something else that will at least keep the dirt out or is there something special about the original piece?

and, yes, you have to have one. It protects the bearings in the Headshok. You saved money by buying a used bike, now pony up the measley $10 for the right part.
