    Gemini (1000) lefty stem

Well you think you have it sorted then along come some know it all, who knocks you for 6....

Cannondale Lefty/Headshock vs. 1.5 stem thread

So it seems my current Raceface onepointfive stem fitted to my Sherman's will not fit my new lefty. Soooooo my only experience of a Gemini with a lefty, was on a demo I had over a weekend on a 1000, before i bought my 900. So what stem (length and rise) were fitted to the 03 Gemini 1000's - the cannondale archive only describes it as a "Syntace VRO" - as I remember being totally happy with the bike setup on the demo. Also what are the options do I have for a short lefty stem, ie what the shortest you can get that fits over the a lefty max top controls.

    Cheers.

be-jesus that's short - will that fit past the top of the lefty?

Have managed to source a 80mm 20 degree one and a 100mm 5degree one for testing purposes. Lefty went on the bike over the weekend and I got a 20mile ride done with the the 80/20 one and think it might be the way ahead.

    Whats anyone else using?

Pictures of my Gemini with a 140 lefty max carbon to follow soon.

    The size of the VRO?

THat depended on frame size. My XL Gemini 1000, came with a 100mm 15deg rise VRO.

The 20 deg 50 mm should work if you want to run a short lefty stem. For sure the 20deg 80 works

This time I am on 80mm stem with Lefty Max/Prophet. I mailed the retailer guy of the Toro stem and he claimed that would be ok with Lefty. I dont really believe that - but for what else would they build a C'dale stem? For Fatty? No way.
I did not buy it anyway too much expense for 3cm stem length.
    See as well http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Cannond...4X-Review.html
that guy goes with a 40mm stem

    cheers

Ups...I ordered the http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=15461 stem... indeed it did not work with the Lefty at all (at least 10mm difference). So this is the only FR/DH stem in c'dalesize and it is cr*p.
Syntace makes a short stem that you can trim down to 65mm. ca. 90EUR + you need a new bar for 70EUR thats some 200$ altogether. Cheers.

I know Hope Tech is making Cannondale Headshok sized stems. Don't know if or when they will make it to the States though..

But this is not quite a short one

I see that only sicusa makes short lefty stems, 40mm and 50mm length. They actually clear the rebound knob see pinkbike.com
