Flash 29er alloy 1 vs 2: which to buy?

I'm going to be using my REI dividend on one of these bikes:

    http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/moun...h-29er-2-15931

Difference is $300 and ~1.5 lbs, as near as I can tell. Money is an issue- any compelling reasons to spend the extra $300 for the Flash 1? Or should I go with the Flash 2 and upgrade later? If so, what parts? I've heard there are some issues with the new 2x10 setups-anyone have experience with the Flash 29er 1? FWIW, I'm not a racer, most of the climbs on my local trails are short and steep (CT singletrack).

If i were u i will go F1 and upgrade wheelset...
2*10 is abosolutely no problem and it's the current of shift gears...
But whole white F2 is more harmonious painting than F1?

If it was me, I'd go with the Flash 1. BB30 crankset and it's 2x10. And I'm not a big fan of the all white paint scheme.

Which ever way you go, plan on replacing the Kenda SB8's.

I've had the Flash 1 for about a month now with no issues. The bike is awesome. I was debating between the two and I think the extra $300 is well worth the 1.

I wish the 20% off REI coupon could be used to buy a Cannondale!

Def go for the 1. It will cost you more than $300 to upgrade the 2.....which you will more than likely want to do.

I agree with the other poster about changing the SB8 tires. They are great but only on certain trails at certain times.

I was looking at both as well, and went with the 1 because I like the SRAM over the $himano, and the 2x10, as well as the Elixir brakes.

Also, I don't like the baby blue on the 2.

I have the same exact question. Except 1. I am looking for a 26" and 2. I will be racing with mine so I was also looking at the flash carbon 4, is that worth the extra $600?

    Thanks in advance.

Be sure to read this thread before you make your mind. A lot of people have problems with Sram 2x10 and FSA cranks
