Will Racing Ralph 2.4 29er tires fit a 2012 Flash 29 ?
Does the rear have large enough clearance for larger tire than the stock 2.1

The owner's manual for both the Carbon and Alloy Flash 29 says max. tire size is 29 x 2.25in. I've noticed there's not much clearance on my Flash Carbon 3 with the stock RR 2.25's

Is the limitation the lefty or the rear.

I was considering getting a Flash or maybe a Scalpel 29
But I really like the 2.4 Racing Ralph's and want to use them.

Any thoughts ?

Good question, one I would like to know the answer to.

IMO, The limitation does not appear to me to be the lefty but more likely the rear tire clearance. My '12 Flash Carbon 3 came stock with 2.25 Racing Ralph Evo tires as specified from Cannondale and there is still some room left. Maybe not for say a 2.4 tire in the rear but a 2.3 tire would likely fit.

Now keep in mind the Carbon Flash uses a direct mount front derailleur which may or may not offer more tire clearance also, not sure. I'm waiting for answers from riders who have actually made a larger tire work than a 2.25.

Looks like there is plenty of room on the seat stays,
How about the chain stays are they tighter ?

OK snapped some photos tonight before my ride .....
2012 Flash Carbon 3 with 2.25 Racing Ralph Evo tires on 25mm wide Sun Ringle' Equalizer 25 wheels.

The rear has about 3/16" on each side of the tire to the chain stays.

The lefty has about 1/2" clearance.

I'm running conti trail king 2.4 on my flash 29er. There is very little clearance in a lot of areas but nothing rubs. I can post photos if you need.

So are you running the 2.4 tire tubeless? If so how low of an air pressure F & R without rubbing? What rim width?

I would appreciate it if you could post some photos of your setup.

I ran the 2.4 Racing Ralph on my Flash Carbon all winter last year. 24.5 mm internal rim width rims.

Plenty of clearance.

The tire was only about 5 mm away from the X.0 2x10 front derailleur, but I never had any problems.

Go for it, enjoy.

My 2010 alloy was maxed out at 2.25", however, I think the 2011 and newer alloys have more clearance.
