    Fixing 1996 Elastomer headshock? Help!!

    Hi Guys:

I own a Super V 2000 from approximately 1996 with a 50mm travel head shock that is completely beat. I brought the bike to a LBS and they told me that only Cannondale services their shocks and they will not do so for bikes older than 2001 or 2002.

They offered me a credit toward a new shock, but it will still cost me about $500, which is way more than I want to spend. Does anyone have a suggestion about how to get the shock fixed (1st choice) or how to replace it inexpensively?

    Thanks!

    Jake

Ping Craig at Mendon Cyclesmith (Cannondale Lefty and Head Shock Service Performed by Professional, Trusted Technichian). If anyone can fix it, it'll be him.

Mendon Cyclesmith. He did great work on my 1997 headshok, the price was very good and I had him swap out a stiffer internal spring due to the fact I am a little bigger than most. You won't find anybody better to work on your older headshok.
