New question here. F600 vs Jekyll 400

I am really having trouble deciding between the Jekyll 400 and the F600. I went to my LBS and test rode each one on their set of trails, and I am stuck. I currently have a low end hardtail, and am wanting something better. I just can’t decide between hardtail or FS. Both of these bikes are in my price range. The Jekyll 600 is a little too pricey for me otherwise I think I would get that. If anyone could list some advantages for either bike I would appreciate it. Or if anyone has any suggestions. I mostly ride xc stuff, and I will sometimes use the bike to ride around town. I am pretty heavy and tall (240lbs and about 6’3”).

    Thanks

    Cool-blue Rhythm F600

I have a F600SL (same as 600 except V-brakes) but did ride a 2003 Jekyll 500. Three things stand out for the F600 for me: very nimble, accurate steering; confident, secure downhill; and very very responsive acceleration. It is stiff but not uncomfortable for me on singletrack.

I would say the issues are comfort versus acceleration and Headshock versus standard front stock. The Headshock gives you that nimble accurate steering, but I sometimes miss the extra 20mm of travel (can't use the load of the stock to get over logs as well; need different technique).

Overall I am satisfied with the straight forward simplicity and response. But I'm not an expert.

I just bought an F600 and LOVE it! it is very responsive, grips and goes good, light and nimble, and the headshok is very nice and accurate. I had the same choice to make, I now have the F600 I used to have a fisher joshua Y a few years back but sold it due to 2 knee surgeries. back in the saddle and loving it. sometimes wish for rear suspension, but the bike is still very nice being a hardtail. I am not at all disapointed PS, got the sobe paint scheme, looks nice
