    F29 Carbon 3 questions

Test riding an aluminium f29 today, but am planning on a F29 carbon 3 that I have to order. I've been on a full squish 26er as my main ride for about 11 years so this is going to be a big change! I have read that the rims are tubeless ready but do valve stems come with the bike? Do I need rim strips or tape? Also any quick setup tip with the lefty? I am limited on time to test ride so I want to get the most out of it!

The wheels will come with Stan's tape already installed and valve in the parts box. You'll just have to pull the tubes and add sealant.
For the Lefty just start with sag and adjust air pressure from there until you have it how you prefer.

My Carbon 3 didn't come with valves but the rims are taped. Also the RR tyres are not tubeless versions but do work fine with sealant.

Good choice in bike, had mine since Feb and is amazing. Going tubeless was the first thing i did, however i just asked the shop to convert it for me before i picked it up.

WOW! I rode the aluminium version last night on my regular trails. Best ride in a long time. That thing was great. Now I just have to wait for the shop to get my f29 3!

You made the right choice. You'll love that bike. Ride it like you stole it. It likes speed.

As for setup, follow the advice given above. Set the sag and then adjust as you go until it's dialed. I got it to where I love it in a few rides. The awesomeness of this strut is that rebound is adjustable on the fly! You have no idea how great that feature is in races.

I don't think the rims come with valves but they do come taped. Add valves and sealant and you're good to go. The RR will seal up with no problem. I have not had luck with the tire wear, all trail riding, and I get about 500-600 miles out of them. I love the versatility so I keep buying them.

At the end of the season I'll try something else but, for now, these are my go to tires. They are great at everything.

Again, enjoy the bike. It is a beast!

Check out the Thrashing the F29 C3 thread for some more tips when you get it. Things like where to add protective tape to protect the paint, frame, etc. Suggested upgrades... the usual. It's all there.
