    F29 1FG up and running

I finished building my F29 1FG on Friday and got it out on its maiden voyage yesterday with another 50 miles today. The bike weighs in at 21.75 pounds as weighed at the shop. I could go lighter if I swapped the fork for the SL on my geared F29. Lighter crank and pedals as well would put it in at 20+. I thought of using a rigid carbon fork to get it at or under 20 pounds but I like the Lefty too much.

    Frame: F29 1FG size L
    Fork: Carbon Lefty
    Brakes: Magura Marta
    Crank: Race Face Turbine 180mm
    Pedals: Time Atac XS Carbon
    Ring: Surly stainless 36t
    BB: UN72
    Bars: Easton Monkeylight
    Grips: Ritchey foam
    Seatpost: Thomson
    Saddle: SLR
    Rims: Stan Arch
    Hub rear: Hope XC
    Hub front: Cannondale Lefty
    Tires: NoTubes Crow

Geat looking bike! Have you by chance measured the top tube? Do the actual measurements match the listed specs at all for 2008?

The effective TT's are identical on my 2007 L geared and the 2008 1FG L. Both are 24" by my measurements. The chain and seat stays are wider on the '08.

I wonder what the weight will be? I did a calculation of putting on a carbon rigid and the weight savings was maybe a pound over the SL by the time you factored iin the headset reducer required with a conventional carbon fork.
