Hope DT swiss XM 1550 Tricon 29 - question

I am new here, and by sure this is a stupid question, I want to buy DT swiss xm tricon wheels for my Cannondale SL-2 29er, on DTswiss website the wheels have two option and I don't know the correct for my Bike:

FRONT HUB: TRICON®, DT Swiss thru bolt, center lock
FRONT: Quick release, thru axle 15mm (front wheel can order 9mm or 15 mm)

REAR HUB TRICON, DT Swiss thru bolt, ratchet system, center lock
REAR: Quick release, thru axle 12mm, X-12

What is the difference betwen QR and thru axle?

My bike has quick release standard 100mm Front, 135 Rear. I am concerned about the compatibility, some advise from you is appreciated

    Thanks

If your front fork has a slotted drop out then you want the 9 mm QR. 15mm Thru is for a fork that has a 15 mm hole, not slotted. It is a fairly new standard that most trail bikes are going to due the the increased stiffness of a thru axle. In any case, I am pretty sure that the 9mm hubs can be converted to 15mm if you later buy a fork with a thru axle.
