DT Swiss wheels on Scalpel 29er Carbon 1?

Why on God's earth spec the tricon wheelset on a $7500 bike? At 1800 grams, they're just too heavy to make sense for that bike at that price. I know, they're expensive wheels but it's not the point. Even the Mavic crossmax ST's are lighter. I don't even think the Tricons use 240 hubs. Aren't they the 350's? 100 grams heavier if they are. $7500 to get DT's Taiwan hubs. It's enough to make me want to get a Niner Jet RDO just to spec some lighter wheels. Am I wrong? Thanks.

I agree, why would they do that?
