    D3 lock on grips HELP!

So I was installing some XTR shifters and had to remove the d3 lock on grips, I was tryign to be gentle getting them out and the screw backed out, but it seems that I allowed the nut to fall into the handle bar leaving the other half of the endcap in the bar. Now I have no way of securing the caps. If anyone has any advice or insight on how to gently remove the inserts so I can get the nuts out and reinstall them properly please advise.

If the end piece did fall inside the bar....you should be able to use a hook and pull the expander out easily.

    If it's a riser bar....that probably won't work.
It should come right out if the swedge nut is out.

It would still work with some cable housing or something.
