Cannondale Scalpel 29 sizing L or XL

I know when it comes to bike sizing it is always best to find a store with bikes in stock but unfortunately no one has L or XL avail. I'm 6'1" with a 35 inch inseam. So basically short torso moderately long arms. I'm not real familiar on how interchangeable stems are on the Lefty forks. I wanted to see if anyone out there has similar body frame and what size they suggest?

6'4" w/34" inseam (pants size, maybe not actual inseam) and I'm on an XL.

6'1", 34" inseam and I ride a large, I feel comfortable but I've always wondered if I should be on an XL

I'm a smidge over 6'2 with a 33" inseam and I ride an XL. I spent weeks checking the geometry charts as I couldn't find any 29er Scalpels in store. I previously had a large Rize frame but it always felt on the small side so decided to size up and the extra space in the top tube is noticeable in a good way. I sit in the bike better and less on it, the 29" wheels also help with this as well as does the higher headtube.

Cannondale Scalpel 29 sizing L or XL

I could probably add that I did try a L and it definitely felt too small for me. (6'4, 34") for what it's worth.

6'1", 33" inside leg. Size L feels just right, though if you like a long toptube you might prefer the XL.

Are you guys going by pant length or actual crotch to floor length? Thanks!

I am 6'1.5'' and my inseam measures 35.5''. Tempted to get L but I think XL would give me more room to wiggle around.

I also tend to be fitted with lots of setback. Like my femur's are really long.

6'1" with 34 inseam and long arms. I could have gone xl as I sit pretty upright on the L, running a 120x -15 stem and flat bar.

Cannondale Scalpel 29 sizing L or XL

6-1 with long legs and 35" cycling inseam. I have a size Large Scalpel and a size Large F-29 and have them set up nearly identically. I had to change both stems to -5 degrees from -15 degrees OEM, and I use a shorter 100mm on the Scalpel, but stock length 110mm on the F-29. I also run a 40mm riser bar on the F-29 and 20mm on the Scalpel to get the grips up high enough, close to dead level flat with the saddle top. I have both saddles set back to the center of the rails on the setback seatpost. If you believe the perfect fit is the smallest bike that fits you .... Then you are probably a Large, but in this case either could work. I'd like to ride an XL sometime, but the stack on the XL is same as the Large so I'd probably have to run a shorter stem and still raise the handlebars.

    My cockpit is:

BB TO SADDLE TOP: 31-1/4" (1/4" higher on Scalpel, to account for the shock sag)
SADDLE TIP TO HANDLEBAR CENTERLINE: 23-1/4"

PM me if you want any other measurements.

Thanks Scott. Sounds like I need to just test ride both.
