    Cannondale at Interbike 2013

I was looking at the 2013 Interbike presenters list and didn't see Cannondale? Anyone know why
    Thanks

    They don't attend.

Don't feel it's worth their time, money and effort.

Many larger brands have chosen to do this.

    Lame?

    Yeah, if you ask me.

They haven't been there in a while. They use the Park City Press Camp now to show their products and have the reps, dealers and journalists.

Personally, I think interbike is a bit too late in the season, Cannondale (and many others, mostly big brands) have shown the products, some are already shipping and in stores. I'd still like to go but more for the party, Cross Vegas and to have a beer with MendonCycleSmith!

That's a whole separate issue in itself.

Shipping and showing 2014 product less than halfway through the 2013 season. How are you supposed to sell 2013 product at any kind of margin in July, 2013, when consumers already see what's new in stores?

I sit on 2013 stuff when they make me take it, sit on it all winter, then have about a month to get full margin before I have to discount, bah.

As for Vegas, if it were earlier, shops would have to close for almost a week in prime selling season, not a great plan. By diluting the experience, a shop can't go to one place, see brands they might want to pick up, as well as have a beer and swap war stories with ones they already deal with. As well as meet up with folks you only know through the internet, or see once a year....

    Rant over.

Yeah... cars, magazines, bikes... 2014 is July 2013, September is June... never quite understood their logic, or lack of.

Sucks for shops I guess yes... and then again, people here will complain they don't have their 2014 models in September 2013.

Not that anyone wants my opinion, but yeah, new year product should start rolling out in say, november December.

It'd be one thing if all shops were in a temperate climate, where folks ride all year 'round, but "snow belt" shops get the short end of that stick by having to take new product they don't have much chance of selling well, for easily 4 to 5 months. ....
