Purchased a 2016 Cannondale Habit on closeout earlier this year. Going into the purchase, I knew about the "wide" 760mm bars and "short" 60mm stem. Coming off of an Epic with 720/100 proportions and before that a Scalpel...which both bikes are pure XC race with steep head angles.
Having a little trouble adjusting to the 760/60 proportions and wanted to know if anyone else has narrowed the bars and/or lengthened the stem. Perfect for my Upstate NY XC/trail riding would seem to be 720/80, but I don't want to mess with the handling of the bike.
Has anyone "adjusted" their setup for getting through the tight trees or added a little reach to their Habit for more of a XC feel? Just looking for some guidance here before I bring out the saw or open the wallet.
Thanks.
