New question here. Cannondale F29 Caffeine tire question...

I'm riding a 2009 Cannondale F29 2 and want to upgrade the tires to something wider. I've upgraded the wheelset to Stan's ZTR Flow rims and wanted to try the WTB Weirwolf LT 29x2.55.

Is anyone running these tires on the F29? Is there plenty of clearance in the rear? Thanks!

I had a bit of clearance with the 29x2.3 WTB Exiwolf's on my '08 1FG 29er. 2.55s might work but it'll be tight (I think).

    Thanks.

Has anyone tried this with the 2009 F29 frame or are the 2008 and 2009 frames the same? I believe Cannondale made some frame changes between the 2007-2008 model year, correct?

I've got an 08 1FG and an 09 29er 1... there is slightly more room out back on the 09 frames (but not much). 2.25 Racing Ralphs (tubeless on Stans Arch) just fit on the 08 but fit comfortably on the 09...

The 09 Frame is allegedly lighter but I'm not sure where / how.

Thanks for the info. I've placed an order for a pair of Continental Mountain King 29x2.4 tires. I should have plenty of room...

From what I've read the mountain kings are a bit narrower than advertised. Please post your results, I'm curious to know too, got an 09 aswell.

    Hope

Mr Pink 57 had Mountain King 2.4s on Flows in his 09. Ask him about fit.

My cousin-in-law and I installed a new set of Conti Mountain-King 29x2.4s on my 2009 F29 2 with the Flow 29er wheelset today. Plenty of rear clearance...

Hope Here's 2.2in Saguaro's on the stock rims with tubes

Getting Flows this week. This is how Saguaros fit on the narrow Stock rims. I doubt a Weirwolf 2.55 would fit back there on flows. The MK 2.4 and the 2.2 Saguaro are about the same size on the same rims. If the conditions were Muddy a 2.2 MK would be a desent rear tire on Flow IMHO.

Try posting your photo again Steel Freak. I'm curious to see the Saguaros you mentioned.

I agree with you about the Weirwolf 2.55s probably not fitting the rear. I can't believe how wide the MK 29x2.4s turned out to be on the Flow wheelset. I'm happily surprised to say the least!

I rekon the Flow's will tighten up things out back a bit more. Might try a Weir Wolf out front but not making any tire changes till I try the Saguaro's tubless. The rear is working out really well but I think I've had better out front .
